Can we all just agree this is the best sports moment in the history of the world? And all 7 billion people on the planet were in an euphoric state last night? And we all agree that the Cubs are the best team in baseball history, they purposefully went down 3-1 just to stick it to Cleveland for the memes this summer. And finally other baseball teams should be looking ahead to the 2022 season when they might be able to compete again. 143-19 record next year.

Definitely a little over board.. but it was a amazing series.

Well, I predicted at least 50 murders in Chicago last night with the win because it's Chicago but thankfully I was grossly wrong.

Had you worded your post to the effect; "I find it obnoxious the way people behave after sporting event victories." that is entirely different from saying you disagree with the aforementioned.

Having a contrasting opinion isn't a problem; the poor method in which one may express that opinion is a problem. We should remain on topic and not get into nonsensical commentary about how you feel is more valid than someone else.

They had a whole thing this morning here in Chicago that brought me to tears. It showed all the Cubs fans through the decades that had waited for a championship, died and now their children lived to see the Cubs win.

That hit me like a ton of bricks.

Every newspaper in this city is just about sold out. W flags were hung outside every single house on my block. Restaurants are giving out free food here. Cars have huge banners on top.

Someone wrote "For pops" on the steps to the train station. It made me cry.

It was 4AM by the time the party died down near Wrigley and I was still watching this thing.
Right here^, best post I've read about the Cubs winning, this is what last night was all about. Bravo.

A bit delayed to write to this thread but: I wonder if I was the only one that started to root heavily for the Cubs after they showed LeBron in the stands with a "Cleveland or Nowhere" t-shirt during the HR celebration that tied the game...

Don't matter, all will lose to the mighty Chicago Cubs.

That's good since they were about to buyout Ruiz.

No, we can't all agree on that because it took the Cubs 108 years to win the World Series, which as amazing as it was and yes, I was rooting for them after my Jays lost to those same Indians, we all have our favourite teams that we think are the best. The best team in the world is the team that wins constantly, and if you are talking in baseball terms, it's hard to say that the Yankees aren't historically the best team in the MLB in that regard.

Rookie of the Year for Seager, no surprise there since he was in the top-3 for MVP voting.

    panic

Hope these rumors of the Nationals wanting to go big in FA are true. I want a championship. Right now we're still a solid playoff team in the NL but the rest of the division is getting better and we still aren't as good as the Cubs.

Could be worse. At least they aren't taking offers for their best pitcher and 4 best hitters and the team is likely going to be sold in the near future when the owner dies because his son only cares about the Red Wings.

Pretty much makes Edwin Encarnacion contract around 30 million as being fair. But I don't know whether the market will pay it for his age.

So happy to have something of an offensive player. Wright should retire. If we didn't sign Jose Reyes, i don't think we'd have been able to keep Ces. I think that JF16 died, they bonded more and Jose told him Mets have been good to him when no one else wanted him.
