Lightbulb The Best Gaming Monitor Available For Competetive FPS Player?

Hi, guys. I am trying to go competitive on CS:GO and I'm currently rank global elite in the game. However, I feel as if my 120hz monitor is not enough and I am looking for the best of the best, not necessarily 180Hz+ but definitely 144hz, since I tried it and had to see for myself the difference. There is a noticeable difference and I might think that it can be the key for me to reach even higher up. I am looking through this guide of The best gaming monitors available. It is helpful but I really need some user experiences.

So what are your suggestions for gaming monitors suitable for competitive FPS player?

I got https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG279Q/ pretty happy with it too, but I'm no competitive FPS player.

If you want the absolute competitive edge, get a CRT. I'm not joking. You'll probably have to get it from ebay or something though.

Otherwise something like BenQ XL2730Z as it has a 144Hz motion blur reduction which can be a bit helpful. Signal process lag is minimal and you can crank up the overdrive to max to reduce pixel response time along with motion blur reduction and not have overdrive artifacts because the black frame inserts remove it.
Lag and motion clarity will still technically pale in comparison to a CRT.

To be honest i don't believe there is enough variation from any of the 144hz models to justify spending more than just the basic ones, outside of a stand i guess. Blur reduction can look really cool, but im not sure for a competitive player if it would give an advantage over regular 144hz mode.

This acer is on sale for 150 bucks, usually its 190 or 200:

I'm personally using the VG248, which is listed in your reference guide too.
I got it in a deal.

And yes, it's probably the best thing to grab if you don't want to spend a fortune.. in fact, I would probably pick it again even if I had unlimited money. Couldn't be happier.

This is the truth. I miss my old 19" NEC CRT.

Notice the monitors these pros are using?

Many of them choose 24" since it's the sweet spot in size. I'm not saying having a big monitor is bad. However, having more information towards the center of your peripheral vision is very important for a competitive edge. It's why quite a few players play with black bars as well.

The best gaming monitor is most likely the AOC G2460PF for the very low price.
