What should Blizzard have done instead of Mists of Panda?

For an expansion. What should Blizzard have done as an expansion instead of the Panda expansion?

Personally I think they should have done a South Seas expansion focusing on an old god, and Azshara and Trolls and such.

What would you have done/wanted if you could replace Mists (a totally out of place theme type of expansion)?

Nothing, since MoP was one of the best expansions Blizzard ever released with the exception of SoO running too long MoP was near perfect.

I'm starting to really hate this place, as it's always stuff like this.

MoP had good pacing of content, good implementation of content, good raids. That's why it's considered good. But asian / pandaren / silly drunk glutton theme is highly controversial.

Mists of Pandaria was an incredible expansion which is greatly agreed upon by most fans.

They put their heart and soul into that expansion and it showed.

I don't mind Pandaria but I don't think they should've centered a whole expansion around it. I would've liked to see a South Sea expansion, where Pandaria is one of the many huge islands where you can quest. And the portrayal of the pandaren could've been a lot better, without having them all over the place. Pandaria has a lot of filler stuff that came out of nowhere that can easily be ditched.

Though if any expansion should've been replaced with something else, its definately WoD. That was just a huge advertisement for the movie.

This 1000 times this. I felt Legion was Blizzard's attempt at stemming the downward spiral of subscribers from WoD. Everything they announced at the expansion reveal smacked of fan service to me.

False. They were working on Legion before WoD was ever released, and they had undoubtedly planned it for far longer than that.

MoP was the expansion that I stayed subbed to the longest other than BC and probably my favorite expansion overall since BC. So yeah I liked MoP quite a bit.
