What is the hardest boss in the game?

That you have progressed on and also in your personal opinion who you think the hardest boss is in the games entire existence is.

Hardest boss i've progressed on would probably be Spine from Dragon Soul and in my personal opinion not based on any sorta statistic the hardest in the entire games existence i'd have to say yogg-saron no lights just because i'm a WotLK pleb and don't have any connections/storys with others.

    Just my opinion, whats yours?

Inb4 someone links the chart of days from release to kill and claims it represents difficulty.

OT: H Lei Shen during ToT, no real contest
You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me!

By tried and tested logic of the internet: Kel'Thuzad in original Naxx.
For real though, I believe Method said Mythic Archimonde was one of the hardest if not THE hardest bosses?

The boss which felt as the biggest achievement to down in my own experience was Mythic Gorefiend... That, or Heroic Ragnaros.

I would have to put Mythic Archimonde up there. The fight was mechanically kind of retarded and the tuning was really tight.
I can't state how important those weakauras were for both the laser beams and the marks in phase 3. Without the weakauras, I would suspect a lot less guilds killing the boss if I have to be perfectly honest.

But without weakauras, I also think it was kind of overtuned, as strange as it may sound. The indicators for Archimonde's laser beams was horrible, and the debuffs in the last phase were kind of nuts when you had like 3 seconds to get infront of a group - AND make the timers. I don't envy those who had to kill him without rings.

I think Yogg-0 lights and heroic LK are both very high, dunno which of the two I would consider being harder though.

That and mythic gorefiend. Those are the only 3 bosses I remember going above 500 pulls on before I got the first kill

Lich King 25 heroic, no kills before % buff (arguable ofc).

Hardest boss tuning and mechanics wise: Archimonde
Hardest boss mechanics wise: Lei Shen
Hardest boss tuning wise: Lich King 0%, Ragnaros, Archimonde hard to say

    opinion

Heroic Ragnaros 25M was a bitch of an encounter. The triangular strat people developed to deal with Geyser wasn't even the way Blizzard intended for the mechanic to be handled and even then it was still pretty sketch.

Mythic Archi is probably up there. And Mythic Blackhand was pretty tough when he was current. Imperator was pretty difficult, too.

personally, it was for the group i was with at the time, heroic ryolith. dont ask me why. we spent more time on that boss than the other 5 combined. didnt actually kill him until the monday before dragon soul came out, made one attempt on heroic rag and called the night, never went back. Looking back it is a bit embarrassing because its not a particularly complicated fight but made the group go full retard.

Court of Stars' last boss in Mythic+!5 it seems lol.

if we're including nerfed bosses that actually were killed a few times before the nerfs (but still excluding broken ones like c'thun): kelthuzad, kael (honestly killing him and getting attuned was probably the hardest part of BC progression until sunwell), m'uru/KJ, yogg 0, LK 0%, nef and al'akir pre-nerf/fixes, rag, sha of fear, lei shen, and blackhand

out of all that though, I think probably LK 0% takes the top imo, the dps check was brutal

I think helya might honestly get added to the list, she looks pretty brutal, but at least artifact levels will help the rest of us, but I honestly don't think many guilds will see her down before even the end of nighthold with tier bonuses and really high artifact damage bonuses

I've done every encounter since TBC (bar most of the Sunwell bosses), and hands down mythic Blackhand for me. Ragnaros and Lich king are most probably second to him, but nothing else comes even close to Blackhand. He was a brutal bosss. Never felt more proud while raiding then when my guild finally killed him.

    Hardest Boss atm?

Probably some very High lvl Tyrannical Mythic+ Boss

Most Raid Bosses are not really hard when you don't have the lowest gear possible, they're just lots of coordination.

Try lvl 15 Tyrannical Shade of Xavius in Darkheart Thicket or lvl 15 Advisor Melandrus.

Many Tyrannical m+ Bosses at a high lvl require extreme fast reaction times to avoid getting one shot, or to top ppl off.
Also many 10+ Bosses already hit harder than Mythic Raid bosses... so yeaaah
    Definitely m+ atm

    Updated for this tier.

I see a lot of misinformation out there regarding how long bosses took to die so I thought I'd recreate this thread. DISCLAIMER: This thread is not trying to measure difficulty.

These are from the date it was possible to begin working on them, or the previous hard mode was killed. I'm sure people might quibble with some of them but I did my best. Going with 25-mans here.

This is obviously not indicative of their relative difficulty but it's interesting. Lots of caveats of course. Like Ulduar's design lending it to people being able to progress anywhere and various limited attempt bosses.

The reason Yogg-Saron and Mimiron count from the opening of Ulduar is that from day one it was possible to immediately go in and begin working on Alone in the Darkness. With other bosses it was 100% impossible to start pulls testing them out until the previous boss was slain.

The hardest boss for me was Sindragosa HC. She pretty much killed 2 guilds of mine xD Killed her after like 500+, if not more, wipes So many nights, where we just wiped and wiped on her ><
May the lore be great and the stories interesting. A game without a story, is a game without a soul. Value the lore and it will reward you with fun!

Don't let yourself be satisfied with what you expect and what you seem as obvious. Ask for something good, surprising and better. Your own standards ends up being other peoples standard.
