May God have mercy on my soul.
Anyone trying out FF XV.
I'm so scarred from she who will not be named from the previous installment so I'll probably wait till it goes on sale.

So just finished E8 of Hibike, the Agata Festival. Ok, you guys win - solid show, and they all are cute AF. All of their relationships are fantastic, and I will hopefully be on S2 in a couple days. Not sure who best girl is, but loving Little Midori, Hazuki!
I've come to actually rather like Gigguk as a general reviewer, even if I don't actually agree with him on many series. That said, I feel like he did an excellent job of elucidating what went right/wrong with Kabaneri. I apologize if this has been linked before, but I just stumbled on it and thought it was a very good summary.
He did remind me: I really did like the engineer woman. Not in the way he talks about, but simply because you never see them ever animate a female like that and it made total sense that she would have that kind of musculature.
I actually ended up on that video from this one, which I thought was again pretty entertaining. The part at 2:21 really struck me as simultaneously funny and accurate.

Also @goriq, I went and finished LAIN and no response? /sadface
@Neichus It's quite difficult to comprehend your perplexing and convoluted posts while drinking, to be honest. I'm glad you enjoyed it more this time around, though. I found myself loving it after finishing and still after some discussion with Goriq in voice chat. There are surely differences in perception with regards to the philosophical premise the anime presents. Lain is also a qt.

If you want to pay for the whole Anime Industry report: http://aja.gr.jp/date/2016/09
Anime is up to 112% from previous year by selling streaming licenses to China alone. do the math to include Europe and US. Selling streaming rights is one of the defacto biggest moneymakers right now if you want to believe it or not.
Only if they are on the production committee so like almost no studio besides the special cornflakes in the industry, Actas is a nice example for that. GuP made 2.4 Billion JPY and they haven't seen a penny of that because they weren't on the production committee. If they aren't on the prodcom then they just get a x set amount of money and have to animate with that and if you go over budget like they did with guP then its your own fault.
Ufotable, KyoAni, P.A.Works are special cases as they also sell their own merchandise related to shows. (and KyoAni has always been on the prodcom except for their very first show they animated) so they get extra money for selling that.
Ok, I expected to start S2 of Hibike this weekend...just started it this morning. Flew threw S1 last night. Damn cute girls doing cute things.
Recently the only thing I finished is Assassination Classroom (the manga though, not the anime, working through that).
It's odd though, usually when I finish an anime or manga I really liked, I'll walk away still pretty inclined to praise it, but then a week or two after I'll re-evaluate it and then start to realize, while maybe I still liked it, it wasn't as great as I originally thought. Prime example being Kiznaiver, and even Re: Zero to a degree (Still love Re:Zero, but I started to see more flaws in it on a re-watch).
Assassination Classroom though I feel like I keep realizing how good it was overall actually. Like, what I dismissed as just bad gags at the start were actually pretty vital to show how ridiculous Koro Sensei is in terms of what he can accomplish. I'm actually kind of disappointed it took me this long to get around to Assassination Classroom, and that I almost dismissed it.
PS- Sorry to interrupt the Hibike praising.

I guess I just didn't do a good job of expressing my thoughts then: My first and foremost complaint against it was that it was obscure and confusing. The secondary concern was my disagreement with some of its content. In the rewatch I found it to be clear and perfectly understandable and my philosophical differences with it felt less...pressing. Taken together my enjoyment and view of the show experienced a significant improvement.
I haven't visited MAL to update the score. I will be probably bumping it up, the question is how much. It's at a 6 right now, the question is between a 7 or 8. It's still my "least favorite" compared to Texhnolyze and Haibane Renmei, but it's no longer a distant third.
