Political left, right similarly motivated to avoid rival views
[...] we have an intolerance for ideas and evidence that don’t fit a certain ideology. I’m also not saying that we should restrict people to certain gender roles; I’m advocating for quite the opposite: treat people as individuals, not as just another member of their group (tribalism)..
That's a lot of porn.

Yeah Canada is all about freedom of speech...
Doesn't Canada have ridiculous hate speech laws where you can't speak out as a Nazi or KKK member? What are they going to do with the hate speech sites?
Didn't they prosecute a comedian who made a joke about a handicapped person? It was "hateful" or something?

I find it odd you think the laws are ridiculous instead of the Nazi and KKK, but yes, Canada's laws prioritize a sense of safety for its citizens over their opinions (or right to weapons for that matter). You can't allow people to walk around with a "big iron on their hip" and also keep them safe- Just like you can't let people say whatever they want and also keep them safe from being verbally assaulted.
Canada, unlike the U.S, is based on British law* and thus does not have an equilivant to the "First Amendment" (or the "Second Amendment" for that matter). It still amazes me that there are Americans that think their laws or "rights" apply outside the U.S- if you spread hate it Canada, you will get in trouble.
Take this American who wore a "Confederate flag" pair of shorts up here for example and traumatized other event goers. It may be fashionable (literally) to scare others and opress them through turning hateful imagery into pieces of clothing in the States. It's not allowed here.
* - The province of Québec is an exception, and has their own law system and courts based on French law
Are they going to back up all the child porn, beastiality and mutilation pics as well?
You're getting exactly what you deserve.
You mean the guy who wants to cut first amendment rights - is on record already saying that half a dozen need to be removed. Fear mongering is over - now it's the reality of that fear mongering that we have to deal with. You Trumpers keep telling yourself that everything is fine and he'll help all the little people, just like he never did before, while the rest of us, with our eyes open, build the arc.
When did Noah build the ark Gladys? Before the rain.
Besides restricted speech, Canada has more strict libel laws, all that content defaming other people would have to be deleted. Maybe.
