Swedish politician: - Make Malmö a sanctuary for illegal immigrants

The news that the police seek out and return illegal immigrants who are registered with the social assistance has aroused different reactions in Malmö. Left party Councillor Hanna Thomé (pictured) now wants Sweden's third largest - and largely Arab - city to become a haven for illegal immigrants.

- It is terrible that there are no longer any free zones. It is a consequence of the inhumane refugee policy the government has made, which we have chosen not to support, says Hanna Thomé to the regional newspaper Sydsvenskan.

The background for the utterly naive statement is that several media in recent days have reported that police have used Malmö City's social registry to locate and return illegal immigrants.

Meanwhile, Councilor Carina Nilsson, who previously advocated that illegal immigrants should receive "help with food and housing," has suddenly changed her mind. She now says to Sydsvenskan that she wants to see an asylum policy "which should grant asylum if there are grounds for protection, but they should also voluntarily leave the country if the asylum application is rejected."

Tens of thousands who have had their asylum application rejected or never applied, are staying illegally in Sweden, where many join criminal gangs to survive.

What do you care about what a local politician say to a local newspaper peopel say stupid things all the time.... she is not in the Swedish Parliament hence she can not change the governments refugee policy.
