Ehh no. There is more info available on the game itself, what inspired Kojima and what type of game it is. It's your problem that you're unaware of this. And it's your problem that you don't like to be left in the dark by a trailer. This is Kojima's style: He toys with us, gives us false info so that we expect something only to be mindboggled (in a good way) when the truth hits us. He also loves his easter eggs. I don't mind people like you who needs to have the A to B to C connected, but don't sell your 'argument' like it's a general problem, because it really isn't. If you wish to gather more info about the game you can look for YongYea.

Symbolism and philosophy are key ingredients of Kojima's arsenal. The Metal Gear series and his trailers are filled with them. I can see that it can be confusing to you, but this trademark is what sets him apart from other developers and that's also one of the reasons why people love him. Clearly you do not like this so we can agree now that you don't like Hideo's style and be done with it.

BINGO! Why do you think people care? Because he is a victim? Guess again. We both know that kojima is all about his trademark and quality, something that was limited by Konami. Now that he has room to operate I can see the enthusiasm growing even bigger, as big as Cipher even. Reason being the beforementioned.

What is this 'false hype' you speak of? Hype is either justified or it is not. And we all have a right to be drawn into the hype with the risk of disappointment. If one likes what (s)he sees (trailer) then why oppose the enthusiasm created by one of the best game developers of this time? We know what Hideo is all about and frankly, I'd be surprised if a large amount of people would care about Kojima's ego. We like his passion for games, his creative, goofy mind, his innovation and his ambiguous complex mind. Playstation knows what they wielded in and they have given him the room he wants.

It really has nothing to do with 'fan boy'. You're using the argument between Kojima and Konami and Hideo's personality flaws as a deterrence to try and nullify any enthusiasm that is awoken by the new trailer by a renewed man working for a new company. Let him rebuild his new base of operations, pull in PS money, PS resources and recruit more fans. So that he may go from zero to one, 10, 100 and beyond.

It's vapor ware. There isn't any in game graphics even being shown for this game yet.

Kojima fandom is some serious shit. People try so hard to defend what is him literally showing off vapor ware to manufacture false hype.

This game likely won't even be out in this generation with the way he rolls. You should have every reason to worry, especially without big bad Konami making him actually FINISH a game.

Don't be surprised if it's 2026 and we're talking about this game releasing on the PS5 Pro lmao...

No surprise you have the exact same defense force from the MGSV thread jumping to attack anyone questioning the point of these "trailers".

Oh please, we're talking about something we enjoy and literally all you "contributed" was that we're all fanboys because we don't hate it. You didn't question anything, you basically said since you don't like it anyone who does is blindly following him and getting caught up in his name.

From what i understand the trailer.

Humans were drilling for oil and it spilled, but in that oil, there is a virus that can take over living beings (and also some unliving)

    So this is a thing......

    http://www.polygon.com/ps4/2016/12/3...lermo-del-toro
Watched side-by-side, something strange — and likely deliberate — occurs between the first Death Stranding trailer and the second, which premiered Thursday at The Game Awards.

As spied by Twitter-ers megaloltaku and memeings on Twitter, the funky fetus that Norman Reedus is cradling disappears and, ta-daaaa, teleports into that test-tube deal that Guillermo Del Toro is holding in the second trailer.
If the Twitter embed doesn't provide enough context, here is the whole thing through YouTube doubler.

What does it all mean? It means we're getting worked up over visuals for a story-driven game whose story is anything but coherent at this point.

More on Death Stranding is expected from the PlayStation Experience today. We're covering it, and will be carrying the live stream as well.
Trying to watch the link but it isn't loading for me.

The graphics are in real time. Second, supreme graphics shouldn't be the most important thing for a game. Besides, MGSV looked decent and with 60fps too. So I'm not worried.

It's cheap and misplaced to use the fandom/fanboy card here. People like the Kojima trailers for their style, hints, symbolism and other hidden messages. In general people like mystery, and this is no different. With Death Stranding we go on a journey to learn more about the game by speculating and extrapolating. This has nothing and I mean nothing to do with 'fanboy'. What you really want to say is that you do not like the trailers and people should not get hyped and if they do they are fanboys - which ofcourse makes zero sense.

We are aware that it will take some time before we can see the end product. Is this reason not to get excited? Ofcourse it isn't. I'm not attacking, I'm making sense. Wether you accept this or not will not change the fact that the hypetrain will keep going.

Hmm, interesting. You can derive more from this quote:

Still, the main parts of playing will not change. Comparing it to driving; driving a car you're familiar with will have the same familiar feeling when accelerating or braking. It's when driving this "familiar" car without stress for a while that you'll first notice the difference. That's the kind of game it needs to be.

Kōbō Abe, one of my favorite writers, wrote a novella called [Rope] which I read in high school. This book talks about the first inventions of the human race; the "stick" and the "rope". The stick helped man to keep distance from threats.

The stick helped ape evolve into man. On the other hand, the rope helps us capture and bind important things to us. Most online games will have you fight with a "stick", this might also be said about social networks.

Stick and Rope are two very important keywords. You will be using the "stick" in our new game but that is not all; how will you be able to use the rope to connect people worldwide? Will you be able to use both tools? The game will have you playing with tools and think about these points.

With technology advancing as far as it has; dividing games into genres like "Action" or "RPG" doesn't sound too forward thinking but, DEATH STRANDING should be a new "genre".

Meh, not that excited, especially if it's third person. I'm still bitter about Silent Hill tho, so eh.

EDIT: should add that I'm aware that the cancellation wasn't Kojima's fault. I'm just pissed that the project fell through and this isn't nearly as interesting to me as an a) Silent Hill game b) directed by Del Toro/Kojima, with c) Norman Reedus. I know that elements of all those things except Silent Hill will be here but it still feels meh to me.

One thing that I've seen is people like the People involved: Kojima, Mads, and Del Toro. For me at least is quite the opposite of what you said... The trailer shows a ton of things, even though we don't know what they all mean/are and speculation is half the fun!

I really hope the actual game is as fantastic and bizarre as the trailers and that they aren't forced to dial things back the more this game most likely gets stuck in developer hell for several years.

I brought a ps4 several years ago just for Silent Hills and the hope that Bloodborne would be awesome. Thankfully BB is still amazing and probably the driving force behind me not just trading in my ps4 right now but yeah...I'm beyond salty about hills and then Capcom rubs salt in the wound by making the new RE a crappy looking knockoff of PT.

So now that Kojima has chosen an engine(the decima engine by guerilla games) I think the PC version Kojima talked about is officially cancelled. The chances of Sony letting a proprietary in house engine be ported to PC are slim to none.

There is a reason other games Sony money hat as just console exclusives(SFV, FFVIIR etc) are using Unreal and not an actual Sony engine.

Funny that they say its for PC and PS4 but pc allows cross play with xbox so hows that gonna work for sony

Kojima said it was for PC while he was "searching for an engine". Now with the game using an in house sony engine there is a small chance that PC version ever sees the light of day. Sony is not going to foot any bill for guerilla games to port their engine to PC. Sony owns the IP, Kojima looking like he's going to waste another astronomical budget to hire a bunch of celebrities no game needs. PC port just ain't happening unless Kojima pulls money out of his own ass. Sony is spending way too much money to put the game on PC at this point.

Also your post makes no sense, and you apparently don't understand how it works anyways. Xbox One games are for the most part cross buy with Windows store versions, there is no other way around where steam games will miraculously port themselves to Xbox and be playable on it.
