as someone who works in importing/exporting packages, i'm fine with him pissing off china. They always have the heaviest packages coming into the US everyday and there are like 3000 of them. They somehow made phone chargers weigh 70 pounds by packing the box with 500 of them.

Hint: All candidates for leadership in Taiwan are hand-picked by the Chinese gov't. So much for the "their own gov't and politics" theory.

Doesn't sound handpicked. But where do you have this from? Are you from Taiwan?

Do a little research. Over the last 40+ years Beijing has hand-picked a large amount of Taiwanese leaders.

when not one of you had one fucking problem with Obama approving the sale of over 1 billion dollars of military equipment to Taiwan an action that had China making a statement saying they strongly opposed, threated sanctions, calling the sale being against international law
Your hypocrisy and double standard strip away any credibility you had left

    1) The equipment is mainly 70s era junk.
    2) China was clued in.
    3) It was conducted over the proper channels versus a stray telephone call and a bunch of tweets.

Diplomatic protocols exist for a reason, and it isn't being 'politically correct'.

China summoned the U.S. charge d'affaires in Beijing, Kaye Lee, to protest and said it would impose sanctions on the companies involved, China's state news agency Xinhua reported.
"Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. China strongly opposes the U.S. arms sale to Taiwan," Xinhua quoted Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang, who summoned Lee, as saying.
Zheng said the sales went against international law and basic norms of international relations and "severely" harmed China's sovereignty and security.

Yes that's called standard protocol when these things happen. China makes a fuss. Summons the the highest ranked US member of embassy staff. Make a public huff, then behind closed doors bow, converse like normal since nothing is changing and realise this is part of the game that's been played since the US recognised the PRC over the ROC since in the long run it benefits all 3 players.

It is another Chinese "stash" they use to dump US treasuries less conspicuously.

And... what exactly prevents same thing happening now? Doesn't really look any different so far.

Belgium has been buying up tons of US Treasury Securities (US debt). Roughly enough to equal about 70% of Belgiums' GDP. This is being driven by China, who hides some of their Treasury buys in Belgium.

We buy "cheap" from China not because of the quality of the gear, it's because of how them owning our debt works. They purposely buy up the US debt, to inflate the value of the US Dollar, as the Chinese Yuan doesn't hold the value it does. Chinese government purposely inflates the value of the dollar, to make it more valuable and we get to buy their stuff at a severe discount.

China is reliant on the US dollar and our middle class to buy their products, they may make some complaints (which according to the article they really haven't said much) in the end they'll back our play, because they need us.

Also, as of late 2015 Japan owns more US debt than China does, let alone they both own less than 10%. Federal Reserve owns nearly triple of the US debt than China and Japan do. So we are indebted to our own bank, than we are foreign governments.
