Curious question in the fashion and designs between eras.

Music, clothing, cars, hair-styles, etc. were all pretty distinct between each era, such as the 40s, 60s, 80s, and such... yet all this has remained relatively unchanged from the late 90s to now... especially for cars.

Why is this? This was when the internet started to spread... did it cause a homogeneity in it all?

No, you just aren't thinking about the things that are different. Like dubstep. Dubstep is new music.
If you are particularly bold, you could use a Shiny Ditto. Do keep in mind though, this will infuriate your opponents due to Ditto's beauty. Please do not use Shiny Ditto. You have been warned.

maybe? globalization effect of internet use could lead to this since humans tend to want to fit in with others - imitation said to be highest form of flattery and humans love flattery so great way to try to fit in.

Nothing's actually original tho. Everything derives elements from other things.

Isn't dubstep pretty much the same as techno, using bass?

The aerodynamics thing make cars all look the same. It's like why buy a Lexus when a Kia looks a lot like a Lexus and costs about a tenth of what a Lexus does.

    Relatively unchanged?

You are not listening to new music. You need a new haircut (for guys modern fashionable haircuts are essentially recycled from 1930's to 1940's Europe), if you still dress like you dressed in the 90's... fuck dude!

And cars...car design is largely dictated by aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. And if you actually check car design by decade the actual evolution is very gradual. With the exception of 2 major design shifts. One is being pre WW2 and post, and the other being 1960's to 1970's, when the futuristic Nuclear Age design in the US was abandoned for more practical designs, the continuity is much clearer in European car design where the Nuclear Age design never caught on much.

Nope. Dubstep evolved out of Jamaican Sound System, which grew out of Ska and Reggae.
