The drone was deployed from the USNS Bowditch. USNS as in US Naval Ship Bowditch. It's a military vessel.

Technically, USNS ships are owned by the Navy, run by the MSC, and crewed by civilians. The Bowditch has no crew served weapons and was built to civilian standards.
