i dont care if people ask because i usually give it away to highest roll if I feel like it but I dont like people who feel entitled to it and have those stupid add ons telling everyone in raid that I have loot to give away

  2. #162
At least they are only whispering you about it...

It's already a toxic issue that players are getting the votes to kick playesr out of groups.

FFS, there is an addon that not only announces -everyones- loot drop, if it's an upgrade, or who can use it. There is another addon that starts the vote-kick script with an automated message after X time the player doesn't trade the item.

Something Blizzard needs to ban, again. Only encourages an lets people get away with Player Harassment and Trolling.

If someone whisper me asking politely i have no issues giving away shit i do not need. If however they go with the give or kick shit. I just copy paste the termination of service. "1:Any behaviour that endangers the gaming experience of other players". and tell them to "kick me, i dare you. You will be banned".

    Havent been kicked yet.

I don't mind it, but if more than 1 whispers me, I'll answer them in raid chat instead of a whisper.
Also, I dont give out gear in LFR even if I need it or not. I wouldn't dream of rewarding people who bring 0 effort and says "Its just LFR". Well, its my gear, and I'm gonna DE it.

idk, i guess its cause im canadian
but i rather give away items then to just vendor them, and will go out of my way to make sure items arnt wasted, liked i did an LFR tov for the ilidan quest, got a cape off guarm, asked people then, and just after helya died if anyone needed it, just to make sure a item that may be a 15 ilvl boost or something for someone, isnt turned into a few gold...

and when people whisper me if i need an item, i rather they wait till i announce it

if i get an item, i understand them whispering me, because not everyone announces when they need an item
but me personally i wish they would wait till i say "i dont need this item, who needs it" then have them all whisper me so it doesent disrupt raid chat, or fill with spam
but of corse thats not their fault, they dont know me, and dont know that if i get an item i dont need i will tell them

so eh, as long as they ask nicely and i dont need it, or its like a "the only thing i would get is indestructible, and they would get a 20 ilvl and bis boost"
but idk this is a community game, and people should just make sure they are treating each other with respect

I don't mind people whispering me for loot. I tend to ignore raid chat if I'm in a pug or lfr. If I don't want an item for tmog I'll trade it to whoever asks for it first. If someone is being a sperg and wont take no for an answer then I just ignore them. No point in listening to someone claim their need of your item is greater than yours.

I once took pity on a guy and gave him an item which I REALLY wanted for transmog for my monk, figured I'd get it at a later point and that guy had an ilvl 780 headpiece. Right when he got the item, he disenchanted it in front of me and said "Lol thanks sucker. ;D" and switched to his real helmet... an 870 Titanforged item. Between him and all the toxic shitheads acting as if they're entitled to something just because they saw it drop, I'm done being nice to randoms.

These days I'm ruthless. I say "Yes, I need it" on principle. If they argue after inspecting my character, I'll say "None of your business".

Will only give items to people I know from now on. Leveling an enchanter right now and I suspect I'll see quite a few moments where people think they're entitled to items I get before the expansion is over.

You are saying that you are entitled to the loot of other players and are getting emotional over someone saying, "No, my loot is my loot." regardless of their reasoning for it because they aren't giving their loot to you fast enough.

Also, you can make as many assumptions as you want about me, it doesn't make them true by any standard and is nothing but personal attacks, which is against this forum's rules.

Because the loot that drops for me is my own loot, not someone else's. I don't entitle myself to someone else's loot.
If you need the loot nobody is complaining. If you don't need the loot and you're not sharing it with someone that does, that's awful. Even if you're only using it for transmog that's fine, but to just be like "Oh this is an upgrade for you and it's not for me? Lol fuck off." - That's awful antisocial behavior, if one of my people in my guild, and I'm a pretty laid back person, did that shit I would kick them in a heartbeat because that selfish behavior doesn't fly in guilds either.

I don't mind people whisping me if they are respectful and not demanding as if I owe them or something. In any other case, my usual answer is a simple "no", followed by ignore if a person fails to handle the refusal.
As for myself, I do at times whisper other people when I really need something they just looted and it's not an upgrade for them, though I'm following my own rules - always being polite and never demanding.

I said it was minor, and only made the thread to see if other people agreed or not.
Isn't it ironic how education is important, yet people forget all about it when they visit the internet?

That is a bias opinion based on your own personal morality. It's not their loot, it belongs to the person that it drops for and no one else. A player is not entitled to someone else's loot that is theirs, regardless of what they want to do with it. If they want to give it away, that's their choice. Denying someone a choice in what to do with their loot is being self-righteous on the matter.

Again, a bias moral opinion with nothing but contempt for someone that decides not to give away their earned loot to someone that doesn't deserve it. It isn't your loot, it is their loot to decide to do with whatever they wish. By kicking them for wanting to do whatever they want with their own loot, you are being self-righteous and imposing your own selfish ideology on others.

Except people usually are too lazy to even link what they don't want to chat.

pretty much 50% of my alts gear comes from whispering people to ask if they don't need XXX. I don't care if they don't like the whisper. Some don't respond. Some say no. But most give me the loot I want.

Not asking is gimping your gearing, simple as that.

I would never report anyone either if i were to be kicked. Thats not the point. The point is that quoting the termination line puts most people off doing anything.

Also, it does work talking to a gm about certain stuff. saw a screencap a while back about someone talking to a gm about someone repeatably killing quest npcs in a low lvl zone. Gm came with the regular bs about bringing a high lvl friend and all that. Said person told him that the gm wasn't following the rules they set, and that the player broke this rule, making him unable to play. Ergo. Breaking number 1 in the termination thing. shortly after that the dude ganking was gone. The gm had to act. Its after this screenshot i started using the same crap.

Will see if i find the screenshot, but don't hold your breath. Its a fairly long time ago.

Ok these addon's are stupid with this announce thing, but what is so wrong when people ask via whisper?
Do you get an enormous loud "JOHN CENA DUH DUH DUHHHH" everytime?
I personally ask everyone if he/she needs an item, that would be an upgrade for my chars, after i inspected them.
A simple "Do you need "Item xxx"? Would be an upgrade for me." can't hurt. Either the person says yes or no.
When i get an item i don't/won't need (in future) i write a message in chat after everyone has looted and bonusrolled.
When i get more than 1 whisper, i ignore them and post a simple "Roll for "item yyy"" in the chat.
That takes 3 sec. I can't believe how greedy some people are over the 25 vendor gold.
25g that is nothing. Some wq while mindlessly running around and doing them by accident give 4 times that.

That loot addon is fucking obnoxious; I report spam every time I see someone use it. I'll always offer up gear in 5 mans, but in LFR I just hold onto it unless I have a friend there to pass it to. I'd rather have the gold, and if someone's gearing up because they "need" to raid, they'd be better off running shit with friends.

You don't *OWE* other players shit; sure, it's nice to give up a nice item if it's not an upgrade, but I'm just not interested in dealing with all the whispers and emoness and whatever. It's so easy to gear up from world quests that me not passing you an 835 item from LFR really isn't going to cripple that toon, sorry bro.

we should have a rep system or some sort of currency for the kind hearted people that actually do give away their gear. I've given away so much 860+ even some 870 gear in M+ because the secondary stats were worse. Gear is like giving away candy on my main to people who are fresh. Imagine a world with a +/- rep system where we can filter comment and ratings from player profiles on whos a jerk/whos a cool dude/ who gives gear away.Would be able to make new friends that are green rep probably and avoid the trolls.
