    Oh god.. THIS... SO THIS.

Their mindless overconfident screeching is only barely more annoying than quest givers telling my HORDE SHAMAN, "For the Alliance!" when I turn in a quest. I seriously want to Bloodlust and violate their throathole with Doomhammer over and over again until they suffocate on it.

But this is awesome. I love hearing it every time. SHOW NO MERCY is the best damn line the new (i guess she's had the role longer than the old one now) VA has said.

I love it, but I can see why you would be irked. Sounded like the voice actor had a lot of fun with it.

Gives me more incentive to kill them faster.

Nevermind. Just found it - http://www.godchecker.com/pantheon/g...?deity=HARPIES

Godchecker. LOL. You understand that's not the actual lore, right? Try reading this website:

    http://www.mythicalcreaturesguide.com/m/page/Harpy

Here's another page, which you copy/pasted from, but has no mention of screeching or sounding horrible.

    http://search.credoreference.com/con...reek_mythology

Also, if you're going to quote something written by someone else, you really should put it as a quote and add a link.
i said time and time again i was qouting stuff from the internet, multiple multiple scources talking about how they turned into disgusting wicked beasts of torture and sin ugly and gruesome

    its pretty fucking simple though
harpies dont exist so they can only go off past lore
the past loreo n harpies doesent really mention voice, but calls them ugly wretched creatures
they are half bird of prey, half women, so of course their voice is going to be screechy
imaging pairing a womens voice with a cawing eagle...
i dont see your argument for why they should sound pleasant...

A garrison in this warden's tower would be a vital strategic victory. Drive the forsaken from it, for Gilneas!

and what is your evidence they may not sound horrible?
thats the point, the creatures have every right to sound horrible, they are half bird of prey half women, and they are vile creatures, so why do you go "oh they must sound good then"

    http://new.bostonreview.net/archives/BR18.1/dante.html

" They have broad wings, a human neck and face,

Clawed feet and swollen, feathered bellies; they caw
Their lamentations in the eerie trees.

    "

They are bird creatures inheritly, and they caw. Cawing, as you may know, is mostly described to the sound of which a Crow or Raven would make, unlike the chirping of a Bird or unlike the voice of a spoken person.

Which, then we left with to conclude, that if a person were to.. caw their words, or worse yet, screech their words (Harpies are described as vicious from several sources, and thieves) - Thus, it's not a unnatural thought to think that a Harpy, being upset, that normally caws, would resort to screech to reach a higher pitch.

    It's just logical, really.

Much akin to how a person who would normally have a speaking voice (beautiful or not), will sound less favorable when raised to a shouting voice.

OT: I think you can actually delete the sound files for the harpies but I can't be arsed to find it. I remember seeing this recommended as a resolution for SPriests complaining about the sound of Sphere of Insanity.

I will pretend that your comparison wasn't completely and utterly moronic on a number of levels, and point out that there are thousands of games with haptic feedback that already exist, so I guess sure, somewhere out there there very well might be a demand for that kind of realistic feedback on the non aural front.
