I see where you are coming from, no reason to baulk at orientation, but when I'm playing a shooter I don't care about any of the character's sexuality to be fair. Ever. I roll my eyes when the shoehorn shallow straight relationships into shooters as well. Just sayin'.

It's Blizzard, they always have more to their characters then just being there and having some special powers. And since I would love Overwatch to get an animated series... every single bit of extra characterisation is good for me. (And I don't play the game because I don't like games without a story mode.)

Well it's pretty clear that even if this guy is her father rather than Jack, that he and Ana are no longer together. Doesn't stop Ana and Jack being an item now.

Like:

- If Jack is Pharah's father, why did he have to hide it?
- Does Pharah know?
- Are Jack and Ana going to get back together?
- What were their interactions leading up to their relationship in OW?

That's far more interesting than "her father is some guy." The groundwork is there for a more interesting story.

And finally, while Tracer being an interesting choice for the position, I personally think Mei would have been a better option. Think about it: Everyone at the Antarctic Point was killed. How cruel and heartbreaking would it have been if we'd seen Mei alone working on her cryo-gear, reminicing about her love now gone, gay or straight, because they'd died at the antarctic point? Then to see her crying because of it? It would have been...cold. The saddest thing in we'd see in Overwatch.

One little thing I'd like to point out though. I don't think Blizz would have gotten this little bit of backlash except for one teeny tiny detail:

Someone at blizzcon asked about the LGTBQWASDWTFBBQ+ bullshit and diversity. If that person hadn't asked the question, then the comic would have been read, people would have been surprised, and would have moved on. But because some special little snowflake brought it up, and Blizz responded, which was their only option really, now people are irritated. This is why people need to just close their mouths, and let devs be devs with these things. Let them do their thing. If you don't like it, tough shit, but I REALLY feel that alot of people are on the negative bandwagon simply because an SJW asked about it. If you don't ask about it, then its a surprise and JUST there. If you ask about it, it becomes a forced agenda.

Just because someone asked about it at Blizzcon doesn't mean in anyway that they have to reveal their plans. They could have just as easily jumped onto the politician's answer and neither affirm nor deny the question.

There is no such thing as negative backlash in this game. Everytime Blizz stirs the pot like this their profits and popularity only go up. It's the same exact thing they pulled with Tracer's butt. The funniest part being no one ever seems to catch on to this trick and will always make the mastermind out to be the victim.

Reminds me of those silly movie quotas where there must 0.5 second of showing some random asian or black dude in the hobbit movie or any action movie even if they are not actors

The fuck. In this comic there's like 3 more confirmed heterosexual confirmed characters, and a double page spread of breadcrumbs that ask more questions than offer answers; and you're hung up on the one homosexual relationship reveal?
