No, they changed it because it was a duplicate of Widowmaker's and out of character for her. They left Widowmaker's as it was because it was in character for her.

No, that's the populist narrative. It's like "SJWs forced Blizzard to change this because sexy and objectification." It's kind of fucked cause, back when I was growing up they taught things the opposite way they do now... in that fiction was fake and didn't impact the real world, and now everything affects the real world whether you acknowledge it or not.

Trust Blizzard to jump on the Irrational Games/Ubisoft/etc bandwagon. Once upon a time, they took it as a point of pride to be as apolitical as possible. Provided they don't go overboard, which doesn't look as certain as was once the case, they'll probably avoid alienating the majority of their fanbase as several other series/games have done.
