Will we be able to clear Nighthold easily at 880 item level?

Nighthold drops 875 ilvl gear. I am currently 877 ilvl. I will surely reach 880 at least if not 882 or so before it is released. Do you think I will be able to easily clear normal where each warforged item I get will be an upgrade to me?

But I surely won't have to wait and gear up more once it hits so I can safely enter normal right? I mean 880 ilvl will be more than enough>?

With 880 gear you can clear heroic Nighthold for sure, but then again it comes down to how good a player you are. 880 will be plenty for average player to clear normal. Heroic will require the players to be really good as the tuning might consider tier set so 880 will be enough, but you won't get through all bosses easily.

If you're shit? No. If you're average or above? sure.
In 880+ you should be progressing in heroic, which means you should be done with normal

I'm sure they will tune the encounters around titanforging procs, legendaries and such. Around 885 iLvl for heroic sounds reasonable

If I remember correctly we were given 885 for heroic and mythic testing, but even without that the fact normal is 875 is a hint that you should be perfectly fine progressing at 880 in Heroic.

don't have my magic conch lying around here but 880 should be a high enough ilvl for normal.

could be wrong but I think it was even just 879 for the latest round of heroic testing.

Your average pug struggles with Odyn heroic in 880 gear.
I'm assuming Nighthold will be harder than ToV.
If the players are able to move out of fire, interrupt, target swap and soak, then it shouldn't be too difficult.
Good luck finding players like that if you pug though, seems to be pretty rare...

I had that thought recently... what If we're already overgeared for Nighthold, what would be the point beyond doing It once In LFR to experience It? I doubt the LFR gear will be better then what we currently have, I mean a raid should be an upgrade from whatever gear you have, but people were vastly overgeared for Emerald Nightmare LFR, so I don't have high hopes for It providing any real gear or meaningful fights until I see It.

I'm sure the mythic raiders will be thrilled to see It, but they're still a minority, and not a lot of people will be raiding on that level.. so It's content, but very little. What I'd want alongside raids coming out, Is things for others to do, maybe pvp related stories you could do? Like... escort a cart In Stormheim, while you ride on dragons attacking that cart, and the defenders have to defend It on turrets. While In an MMO aiming downsights of some long range weapon Is bizzare, they tried to do that In Uldum, when you quested with WoWs version of Indiana Jones, you flew away In a bi-plane, shooting from the back of It at enemy fighters. Can we just have that but In PvP? Btw If you never did that quest, do It for the story value, and that bi-plane shooting value. It's not -very- accurate, but It's fun.

Or hell, how about doing raid encounters, one or two that were just that? Not turret sections, nobody likes those, but more complex encounters, that don't nececerily Involve just you maxing out your DPS, tactics, strategy In the traditional way, but more like... Ulduar did, with the first encounter. I want those kind of encounters, full on sieges, with vehicles or such.
Permabanned on WoW since April 14th 2015, main acc I had since vanilla gone and trashed for no good reason, 6+ years later still banned with more appeals resulting in my BATTLENET games being suspended for a month eachtime I try making TICKETS because I'm asking for help with the perma ban. Blizzard has stopped caring for their first veteran players and would rather we leave, considering the Lawsuit, can you afford to keep peps banned even for so long under questionable circumstances?

You need 900 ilvl, and the Achievement too... or no invite!

You can most likely do normals at 870ilvl or something like that. You won't be one-shotting things but you should be able to clear the place and a decent pace.

you will need 900+ and 5 legendaries to be able to go in normal raid pugs, because peoples are stupid and think ilvl make you a better player LOLZ !

And have nobody join because they'd rather try and fail to get into a "good" group than risk wiping?
It became clear that it wasn’t realistic to try to get the audience back to being more hardcore, as it had been in the past. -- Tom Chilton

It is more than enough. That's the ilvl where you'd be giving heroic a shot, but as always..skill > gear as others have posted :P
