I suspect we will see sub races before a new race on the next rotation. (which should be the next expansion).

Most of the race suggestions people have (like Naga) would just be to hard I think for the current armor and modeling system (aka no legs for example).

They have always alternative - Vrykul for Alliance and Ogres for Horde, personally I would love neutral Naga (all three have updated models in WoD/Legion). Generally I take new race > subraces, it always come with starting zone = more content.

Its funny when you consider that Worgen/Goblins could have gone either way. Sylvannas/Garrosh could have seeked to ally with the Gilneans, given that they weren't involved with anything at all. Goblins always pursue profit.

But eh, at least Horde got a short race.

i agree, taunka are cooler than highmountain tauren, i want taunka for tauren.

as for the rest, they're pretty obvious what they are. dark irons, brown/grey/red orcs, forest trolls, undead elves. they get listed all the time, and if blizz is telling the truth about subraces i can promise that dark irons and brown orcs at the least are being worked on.

for blood elves, i wouldn't suggest blue eyes for them as a subrace. i would suggest their zone just be updated finally to show a re-unification with some high elven groups and the fel taint in eyes fading some, and blood elven paladins able to have glowing golden eyes. idk what their subrace could be. i've thought maybe make subraces less about being related directly to the race in question, and more about just having some type of connection to the race, and as such nightborne being the blood elven subrace, but idk.

I think the problem with why we haven't seen sub races to this point is.......Human. What are the Human sub races?
