I know that statement. But it doesnt say that 7.1.5 and nighthold cannot be same day. So they could delay 7.1.5 if they think that it needs some time.

It is possible that 7.1.5 might bevon 3rd or 10th. But it might still be 17th.

Or maybe they don't consider releasing it 1-2 weeks after Nighthold to be "middle of tier", but merely the beginning. That statement is too vague to make such definite predictions.

1-2 weeks after Nighthold would LITERALLY be middle of tier and the start of mythic races. It would be a horrible move to release class tuning/changes in the middle of mythic progress.

Its obvious that Blizzard are not ready with 7.1.5 and thats why they are releasing Nighthold in January but only Normal/Heroic. Guess Mythic will be released when they are done with 7.1.5. That wont screw the progression guilds who are on Mythic.

They will release Mythic after they release Heroic like they always do....

At December's Q&A, Ion said that he would have another Q&A in the first week of January "right around the same time 7.1.5 releases". In that same Q&A, he also stated getting it out "BEFORE" Nighthold's release.

I know a lot of people are saying... "Well it's not balanced, it's not ready", no matter how balanced it would be, it would still be something that would be said up to release. And balancing, from a numbers perspective, will continue to be made after Nighthold is released. They tuned A LOT of classes in the first week of Emerald Nightmare prior to Mythics being opened, so yeah... early January, count on it. Exact date is up in air.

Not necessarily. 7.1.5 is independent of Nighthold. The patch will come when it's ready. If it's ready before Nighthold they will release it then. If it's not, they can delay the patch and still release Nighthold.

3rd is likely. 10th is likely. 17th is unlikely, but remotely possible. Anything past that is not going to happen.

The PTR's on a release build and the background download is up. This usually means the patch is days away (esp. the background download), but accounting for the holidays means it's likely a bit further than that. (It would be very bad to patch on the 27th, right between everyone being off for Christmas/etc. and New Year's Day. Nobody really in the office to do the inevitable hotfixes and such.) Right after getting back on the 3rd, or a week later on the 10th is most realistic.

7.1.5 is not dependent on Nighthold, but Nighthold is dependent on 7.1.5. While the entire raid is essentially in the game (as of 7.0.3, even), 7.1.5 made a large number of fixes and tuning changes to everything from gear drop ilvls to trinkets and tier bonuses to boss tuning.

The 10th and 17th are both possible dates. But it's not 100% guaranteed to be out before Nighthold. It's possible it could be delayed.

the anq qiraj holiday is 23rd, so 17th is the latest date for the patch

For those who seem very confused on release dates for 7.1.5 please keep in mind that its already in the background downloader wich means its very imminent. Also It will be released far before night hold since Nighthold is patch 7.2.
