A National Monument is simply a place of historical importance. Whether it be a statue, building, or land. This is how it is defined by law. If the law wasn't intended to be used for such a purpose, then it should be worded differently. If these gentlemen don't like it, they should write their congressmen to have the law changed. That's how civilized societies function. Wannabe cowboys throwing fits isn't just counter-productive, but by definition of the law, traitorous. I don't know when siding with traitors suddenly became acceptable in the United States, but it certainly is informative regarding the state of this nation.
Yep them turning the Arctic into a preserve is sure gonna prevent those poor, blue collar workers from pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps by building their own start-up oil deep sea companies.
Make no mistake. This is to prevent a corporate landgrab of public lands from being sold off and turned into wastelands.
By turning them into national parks and preserves, they can ensure they're actually available for public use and enjoyment, rather than being fenced off as trump attempts to sell chunks of the nation off to the highest bidder.

Disappointing!
I wanted it to be Al Bundy instead. I can imagine him being in the scene right now.

A traitor isnt someone who fights back at government overreach and tyranny. A traitor is someone who actively fights against their country in the name of another nation

Its a much larger percentage of the land not owned by private people and /or used for something else already
Funny, you can still do all of that you stated, you just can't tear up the land. And they can't run oil pipeline through it or drill on it. Everything you listed there is available still. Please Orlong, pull your head out of Trump's ass and check things before you spout off on misinformation.
That's 1/thousandth of a percent of the total land in the U.S. And it's also pretty small compared to what past presidents have done. Reagan designated at least 3 times that amount for preservation.
No matter how you slice and dice it, it's a small figure. That is, assuming you even quoted me a correct figure.

You know you're adding to my list of people that won't be affected, right? Except maybe ATV and snowmobile riders.
But you see that was good, wholesome l, American preservation. Not this liberal, Kenyan socialist preservation.

You have any source on what you can and can't do in a national monument? Because you seem to have absolutely no idea.
Funny, I don't remember them putting up a giant fence around the Grand Canyon.

in 2012 there was just over 914,5 million acres of farmland in the US, so by comparison 3 million acres really isn't much in the grand scheme of things.
The number is likely lower today but not so low that 3 million acres is all that much compared to the amount of farmland within the US.
Also explain why preservation is bad, I assume its because it prevents corporations from stripping areas bare of natural resources and leave behind a desolate wasteland, because that is what will happen eventually once every ounce of natural resource has been stripped away.

But farmland is land privately owned by farmers. Its not land that we the People can use for hobbies, adventures, entertainment, and leisure. The amount of government owned land that is available for the public to use is getting smaller and smaller. Soon there will be nothing left for us to use
I don't think this is true.
List of "National Monuments"
#1 is Devil's Tower. Which has campgrounds.
#2 is El Morro. Which has campgrounds.
#4 is Petrified Forest. Which allows camping.
Etc.

Okay how about this, the total landmass of the US in acres is just over 2,2 billion. There are plenty of area still left to exploit and strip bare.
Seriously just because something is preserved doesn't mean its inaccessible.. It just means you can't fuck with it how you see fit.
