I'm asking you. Why do you think that the US spies on everyone, even on their "allies". Why would you tap Merkel's phone?
She has no place in politics because she's can be blackmailed. You really have to ask what's wrong when someone who's self-proclaimed dictator of the whole EU can be easily blackmailed?
Ok, you don't. Your administration did, some of them still do. It doesn't matter if it's true to its definition. People call fascist something that it's even remotely fascist. People call democracy something that is more authoritatian than democratic. Terms are defined based on how widely are they used.See, it's funny, because it's actually the Republican's that have been slower to move away from blindly calling anything remotely socialistic "communism", and inherently associating only bad things with both. Democrats have generally been quicker on that one and spent less time using it as a rallying cry.
But either way, no, I don't call them commies. The second I actually learned what Communism was (some point in highschool I guess? It was a long time ago) I stopped calling it that because it was clear that it wasn't.
Current Europe isn't even comparable. What's called "socialism" in Europe is in reality social democracy. And then there's communist wing, you know, communist states. It's not inherently authoritarian, either. Most of Europe is pretty heavily socialistic and it's doing alright. And if you actually want to do socialism proper, you need to have a democracy. Like, by definition, given that it's the community (citizens) that all own everything and decide how it should be distributed/regulated
