Will legendaries be be 940 when obtained in 7,1,5?

Some claims they have heard and seen that the legendaries will be 940 when obtained in 7,1,5 and that we will only use the upgrade system for the legendaries that we had before the patch? Prob. info in some Q&A with Ion or something else, i dont know. I cant find any info on the matter if it will be 910 or 940, could be good to know if you wanna wait now with any content that can give a Legendary or not.



Anyone have a source on this?

they said in one of the dev Q&A's (or at blizzcon, can't remember) that legendaries dropped after release will be 940 of the bat, and that the upgrade Q is for legendaries dropped before the patch.

I've heard they'll be 940 several times but it wasn't clear if the trigger would be 7.1.5 or Nighthold opening

You need an item to increase their level to 940

By the look of things, the item to upgrade is obtained from killing bosses in Nighthold. This is just speculation from what the quest says, But it wouldn't make much sense if all legendaries that drop after 7.1.5 is 940. Although it might be changed at a later date!

Yes. You only need to upgrade the ones that dropped before. New drops will be 940.

not really because you'll be able to upgrade them easily by playing the game, they would be punishing ppl who farmed before the patch and refuse to do any other content in the expansion but i'm guessing those ppl are in a very small if non-existent minority.

You already had weeks of use out of your legendaries, you'll survive.

Would make more sense to make the upgrade item available from vendors after you finish the chain.

They didnt. Iv watched trough them booth and there is NO info like this is any of them.

But no one knows how you get it, as far as I'm aware anyway

Think it was that after u got the upgrade Q done THEN all future legendaries would be 940 (NOT SURE, DONT KILL ME)

hrm essence of something of which gul'daan has ....definitely something we'd get form the illidan quest line and not nighthold :P

Apperantly it was NH release instead of 7.1.5 release

When Nighthold comes out you will be able to upgrade your existing legendary item. New legendary items that drop will already be upgraded.

They will be upgraded IF you alreasy finished the NH grind and upgraded one of yours - Then the new ones you get later will be 940 so you do not have to do them again, yes.

But they wont be dropping as 940 w/o have done the upgrade thing on one first.
