It's completely normal, just because you changed the realmlist doesn't change where the client gets it's information from.

A lot of the background workings of WoW hasn't changed in over a decade. I'm surprised they've managed to patchwork to keep the game running for as long as they have. It'll need a complete overhaul eventually (or just a new game, although after the failed "Titan Project" I don't know if they'll ever go that route again).

Does that with all old clients, always has done. Private realms are only a realm list, the client is still blizzard's, even when it's an older version of the client.
