Knights have always been a human thing in fantasy. It's weird to see any non humans among any knightly orders, it doesn't fit at all, because all these races have their own versions of it.

I mean, wouldn't it be weird to see a human Brave in the Highmountain Tribe?
Or a goblin as a Cenarion Guardian in silithus?

I get that these might not be entirely the same, but you get the idea..

When I first heard of the new hero class; Death knights, i hoped only humans and blood elves would be able to roll it. Because they were the only races that had any knights to begin with. So they would be the only people that would name a class/rank/soldier a knight in the first place.
The original Four Horsemen had 3 humans and a dwarf.

Dude, please. If this is a jab at Nazgrim, then:

If this is a jab about the whole concept of the Four Horsemen having a non-human even in their original form, then I honestly don't see your issue. Both Kor'thazz and Nazgrim, especially the latter, are great additions in my opinion.

    Thoras Trollbane.
    Darion Mograine.

I personally don't think he isn't iconic. I rather him over Darion, despite that defeating the purpose of the whole Death Knight Order Campaign in a way.

Thoras was an interesting choice. Whitemane, Nazgrim and especially Mograine were all disappointing choices.

With the exception of MAYBE Rivendare and with a stretch, the remaining original three are all less relevant than any of the names you mentioned though!

Yeah but that doesn't make the current team any more interesting though. Nazgrim's story was done. The corpse they resurrected is nothing like him. Whitemane has been killed and resurrected so many times now that it's almost a running joke and Mograine already had a presence in the ebonblade without needing a title change.

Most dissapointing thing about them is the blandness. They have barely any personality and no specialisation. Someone tell me which horseman is supposed to represent war for example.

I won't ship them but I surely would love to see them be bros, even if in death. I believe it would be a satisfying closure as far as their relationship goes.
Too bad Taylor will stay in Draenor forever, and ever, and ever.

More importantly, why did Blizzard give 3 of the Four Horsemen the same boss counter?

    Darion? Lack of knowledge?

Both Nazgrim and Sally returning to nothing of what they were once is natural; even Darion himself as a death knight is nothing like the Darion he was in life. It is understandable that the undead version of a character would retain some of their qualities and similarities to their life self, but they are bound to be different in other aspects as well.

I agree about Darion. The man should have remained in his position, but he needed to make way for the Deathlord (namely The Hero) to take the spot light, and as mentioned in my previous post, having him not being defeated and becoming what he became would defeat the entire point of the story line.

What about Nazgrim. He seems to be about war. Or maybe Thoras? He wears red armor. Maybe Whitemane? Oh wait, she is no different from a generic death knight.

Also, the statement about lack of knowledge is rich coming from you.

They did miss an oppurtunity to make Trag Highmountain a horsemen (imo instead of Whitemane).Would have been interesting to see his interaction with the Highmountain tribe.

He's not even in Warcraft 3, that's how well people remember him. Almost every main character in wc3 is well known by wow players, wc2 not so much...understandable since it came our so long ago.

Sorry my bad, i wrote that comment at 3 am in my country so i was kinda sleeping in the keyboard, but yeah many characters of warcraft 1 and 2 are unknown by the majority of the warcraft 3 fans(some after playing the game decided to investigate more deeper the lore but not many)

    Presumably;

    Conquest - Whitemane
    War - Nazgrim
    Famine - Trollbane
    Death - Mograine

I'm not really happy with Nazgrim as a pick, although I love this guy during the DK campaign. The guy had a great ending in SoO and now they literally make a zombie version out of him to keep him around. Thoras Trollbane feels kinda random, people barely even know him if they are not much into WoW books. Whitemane seems a more interesting pick since its the only DK that was actually a crazed up zaelot from the enemy faction, another ironic fate for the Scarlet Crusade to turn one of their leaders into a DK champion. Mograine basically replaces his fathers role from the Naxx40 Four Horsemen, makes perfect sense.

There are a lot of candidates to turn into the Four Horsemen. I might've replaced Nazgrim and Thoras for Grom and Uther, imagine the outcry from both Alliance and Horde if they ressurect 2 very famous heroes as DK's.

A dwarf being a knight still makes a lot more sense than having an orc be a knight. After all they've been in close contact with the humans and high elves. Having been incorporated into the Alliance of Lordaeron, there is no reason to think that a dwarf couldn't become a knight. Then again, we've also got Teron Gorefiend who was the first DK ever(orc spirit in a human body).

I however also understand the sentiment behind his reply and opinion; when I think of a DK, I think of a former member of the Alliance of Lordaeron that fell prey to the Scourge(human, dwarf or high elf), but all of that changed with WotLK I guess.

I think the choices were pretty weak across the board. It was a bunch of characters that had been around or had been around in lore, but not many of them really made you go "Wow, we got THAT guy!"

The end was completely pointless. The Death Knights slaughter their way through the Paladin base, putting all their ties to the Alliance and Horde in jeopardy, only to end up back where they started, just with everyone even more pissed off at them than they already were. On top of it, they make some big deal out of naming Mograine the 4th Horsemen, when he had been there the entire time. It felt more like they couldn't get who they wanted, so they just kinda went "eeeh...you'll do".

Darion Morgraine really was a weak choice for being one of the Four Horsemen when it comes to the "surprise me" moment. What I mean with this is that, even by default, he could've been a champion of the order anyway; the Deathlord's right hand or whatever. I mean, if you can resurrect a dead DK, then they might aswell have raised Arthas.

Abbendis would've been a better choice than Whitemane. Thoras is a great pick in my opinion(except for the "failed as a father and as a king" part, which didn't make much sense). I'd prefer a high elf instead of Nazgrim and another one instead of Darion.
