Does blizz have any plans to fix mmr?

Its insane how much of a skill different it can be with ppl on the same mmr. Are there any plans to actually fix this? Gwtting tiresome to get teamed with people who barely has a grasp of the game. Losing like 30 rating because the system decided to throw some complete idiots with you is just stupid. They need to bring back the avoid player feature so you don't have to play with all thesr kind of people.

Nope, they don't. They'll keep throwing around excuses like "MM can never be perfect, someone could just have a bad day/cat over keyboard/etc.". Fact is that the system is based on wins and loses, not personal skill. They could easily make it so you don't lose rating if you lose a game but you played well, same with a draw. But no, they won't because those special snowflakes feel entitled to their top 500 rank.

Yea, everyone thinks they deserve the top500 rank and to not lose rating when losing because, duh, it's always everyone else's fault. Always. 100% of the time.

Please tell me you're being intentionally ironic.

They should go play Battleborn, only around 500 people total playing it, so everyone's in the top 500!

Top 500 players feel like special snowflakes. But they are only acting this way because of how the system works: You only gain substancial amounts of SR if you play in a 6 man group, smaller groups work too, but to a lesser extent. This way, good players, who could fit into top 500 just by their mechanical skill an game knowledge still can't get there. They will be master at most and even that is bonkers hard when solo queueing. Playing in a 6 man team wins more games, but this means that it was a combined effort and the rating has nothing to do with PERSONAL skill. Same goes for every group size, even at 2.
When the system is more about personal performance, more people will be grandmaster and the top 500(around 500-400) will fluctuate more, because more people can compete on that level with the new system.

No, top 500 is feeling special because they know that no one can come close that isn't in a team and only plays solo. If the system is more based on personal performance, more people will be GM and the top 500 will fluctuate more, thus invalidating the current top 500's position as "snowflakes".
There is a reason why most top pro players when they stream are in duo queue: To compensate for each others' fuck ups so they stay the same rank on average.

Except that most people who are in top500 play either solo or in group of max 3 people. There are ton of people who are top500 by playing pure solo que. There are bazillion twitch streams with top500 people. Check them out. You'll see that NONE OF THEM play in a 6 man group which pretty much invalidates your point completely.

Did you read the last part of my post at all? Hell I didn't even say top 500 players play in a group of 6, only how they got there from the start (which means season 1 placement matches)

That's what you made it sound like. And they also didn't get there like that either. Like every single twitch "pro" has made an alt account and gotten it solo to 4000+. You're just talking out of your ass because you're mad you can't get up there yourself, thinking it's because of the system. Newsflash, it's not.

You fail to read. And also, throwing insults around won't make it so you are right. Enjoy your infraction.

You're crying about Top 500 players feeling 'entitled' to their rank, yet you somehow feel entitled to the higher ranks. It's laughable.

What insults? If you're going to criticize the top500 players for their skill and entitlement, better be prepared for the same since you seem to think you deserve it more than them son.

I haven't said that at all. Can you guys even read? Highlight the part where I said that "I deserve top 500 rank".

Might you be projecting your own angst on this poster you're replying too? Because he's not the OP, not does he anywhere state he even plays overwatch.

Define played well in the context of a game.

    Hello friends

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunnin...3Kruger_effect

We know, you're the best guys of all your PUGs, and when you lose, it's either because your mates suck or the matchmaking made you play against the world's best players. But of course, when you're winning, it's thanks to you, as you did everything on your own !

Or, the MMR works quite fine and if your rating is below average, that may mean that you're, finally, below average

I can name a whole list of people who've gotten in top 500 solo.

Infact getting that high is probably easier solo till a certain point.

A bigger issue would be around 200 (this number is fairly accurate) of top 500 accounts being smurfs of people who already made it to top 500.

You say you can name a whole list and proceed to not even name ONE.
Go ahead give me your list.

Not really, no. But then again he's probably just trolling anyway.

Maybe you could go ahead and give us that same list of people who have done that in 6man groups and to lesser extent in 2-3man groups?

You can find a lot on twitch. Every well known pro player plays in at least duo. Surefour, Calvin, Curryshot, Lassiz, SoOn, etc. List goes on and on and on. You have just been making personal insults instead of coming up with proving your point.

And no bro. When someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean he's trolling. You really have a hard time that you're wrong I guess.
