Sounds like me with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I wanted to stop watching that immediately, but since my youngest brother watches it and records it I might as well keep watching it to make fun of it even more. Not sure how that series got so popular, it's incredibly irritating in anime form, not sure about the manga though.
