In any case, there really isn't much evidence that the commutation of Manning's sentence had much to do with Julian anyways (yes, I know...both Assange and Trump think the word revolves around them). However, if there is a play of that nature, the US could hand Assange over to Sweden for him to face his rape accusation.

Yeah, looks like i might be wrong here. It seems some the media (especially the news aggregates and blogosphere) used the words pardon and clemency interchangeably when reporting this a couple days ago and I must have latched onto the pardon thing at some point. Could have SWORN i heard him say pardon to Hannity, but i can't seem to find it on the transcripts, so this may be a confabulation on my part. hehe. I have to post this. As an apology, I offer this gem if you ever need an example of foxnews being bad at news.

I am not sure about Julian Assange. I believe he did selection on what to publish in favor of his own wish to influence american politics.

Well, it didn't take long at all. Assange said he won't pledge for an extradition, and came up with a Trumpism saying basically that he was misinterpreted, sorta sarcasm, instead trying to mean that Manning was imprisoned unjustly (so to speak):

"Mr. Assange was saying that Chelsea should never have been prosecuted, never have been sentenced to decades in prison, and should have been released immediately."

So now Assange is seen as a liar.

He didn't get clemency? Part of his sentence was commuted, he is still in jail until May and he is still considered to be a criminal.
