People were (are) mad at Comey because he talked about a thing that was eventually a nothing sandwich, hinting that it was the next big deal in the clinton investigation, 8 days before the election. that's a different thing

People are mad at Comey for violating FBI policy right before an election with nonnews.

That can be solved by not joining hostile alliances, or those alliances no longer being hostile (or alternatively not existing).

Ukraine didn't enter any alliances when Russia annexed Crimea and invaded eastern Ukraine.

They flirted with joining NATO for long time, just like Georgia - and they also supplied S-300 to Georgians that were used to shoot down a few Russian planes in 2008 war.

Had Comey released this information after the election, you might have a point.

Can you imagine how pissed you Trumpeteers would be if the Inteliigence Agencies had gone to the news saying "We have information that Trump may be colluding with Russia, and we are investigating him!" a week before the election? Ya'll would be shitting yourselves out of anger.

Yeah one has to wonder why they'd want to join NATO, it isn't like they were at risk of invasion by a stronger foreign nation.

That's a massive goal post shift, nor does joining NATO justify invasion.

even if they entered any alliance, that does not give you any excuse to invade a foreign country... you should really go to siberia and get its natural resources... and improve the tagaz automovile industry

No they'd just deflect and hand-wave. Like they're doing right now.

Of course the Kremlin is happy. Trump is either acting in cahoots with them or too stupid to know any better. Either way, a weaker America means a stronger Russia.

Let's hope we can marginalize Trump's influence enough to downplay any Russian ass-kissing he wants to turn into foreign policy.

Congress, don't stop being a roadblock now.

I'd feel bad for them if we didn't all have to suffer for their poor decision making.

Exactly. They had Budapest Memorandum for that, with US, UK, and Russia guaranteeing their safety against any other threat.

And Russia was (and still is) their biggest trade partner too.

So, yes, you do have to wonder how stupid those guys were, and how they lost to Yanukovich despite his known corruption.

Fadeslol video showed you that the disingenous bullshit comes from people like you who absolutely have no idea what a no fly zone imposes.
Not that this stops your arrogant ignorance, ofcourse.

Well, it's kind of late for invasion if they already invite/join NATO, isn't it? :P

Noone wants WW3 over Ukraine; so whoever steps in first wins :P

And i started from "trying to join", so there are no "goalpost shifting" at all.

You think shooting down a plane guarantees a land war with Russia?

This is how you justify invading a country and annexing its land? That it might do something you don't like?

It doesn't give "excuse", it gives "reason".

"Excuse" is "protecting Russian population". I mean, just like in Aleppo, those Ukrainians were killing civilians left and right! Media reported on everything! We just couldn't stand that :P

You have no knowledge of international politics if you believe something as insignificant as a no-fly zone over some third-world country would lead to full scale war between nuclear powers.
