I agree. But were I to show them this, they would refuse to believe it. And that's what it boils down to, simple-minded belief.

As a european I think this could be a good thing.
...
Noone will deny this has the potential for disaster however
So far the most striking thing to me has been how petty the so called 'intellectual liberals' have acted .. complete hysteria.
Can you define what you mean by "global civilization"? I would tend to think of civilizations as discrete entities that share cultural and legal characteristics and that are bound as defined nation-states. That gets pretty blurry when we go far enough back and find city-state civilizations that don't share governments, but are generally thought of as a single civilization (think ancient Greece).
In no sense would I say that Canada and Afghanistan are the same civilization. They don't share culture, they're genetically dissimilar, religiously dissimilar, not under the same governments, and so on.
Here's the full transcript.
Which quote do you object to? I suppose it's sentiments along these lines:
At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other. If these aren't the sentiments you find troubling, let me know.We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world -- but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first.
You know, I would love to see Trump succeed. I would love to see America reach new heights under his leadership. That would be great.
But let's look at what's happened so far. More or less every one of his promises has already turned out to be a lie. Build a wall, and make Mexico pay for it? Not happening. Drain the swamp? Nope. The swamp is the swampiest it's ever been. Almost his entire transition team and cabinet is woefully inexperienced; half of them don't even know what their jobs are.
But back to the point. Which of Trumps policies do you think will 'make America great again'? He hasn't really outlined much in the way of details. Every time he opens his mouth he just rambles about American greatness, his wealth, how awesome he is, how terrible a problem is, and so forth. The clearest solutions he's proposed are things like 'build a wall', which doesn't dignify consideration and is clearly not well thought out.
You can't solve all of the America's problems with patriotism. And you certainly won't solve them without people who know what they're doing.

Hitler on the left, the guy that blamed the red jews for everything ever???? LOL. My god American public schools are bad.
It's an imprecise term but illustrated the point I was trying to make. I used the term to describe how despite the cultural differences etc that you listed which are all true we live in a modern world where for right or wrong that is becoming increasingly irrelevant. China shares few aspects of western civilization (though they are slowly changing) but the West needed to work with them to solve a problem like climate change or worldwide food production. I am getting at problems that at no other point in history have ever happened because they are problems that every single person on this planet shares and that impacts everyone necessitating global cooperation rather than isolationism.
He pretty much started this fake news bullshit.. and believe it or not, infowars just ran a video 4 weeks ago confirming Trump to be right on this matter.. facts dont matter anymore.. the more insane your rhetoric, the more youre believed.

Trump surprised everyone once already, I'm just saying...
.
"This will be a fight against overwhelming odds from which survival cannot be expected. We will do what damage we can."
-- Capt. Copeland
Its a right-wing thing that's fairly common over here. They can't accept that Hitler shared an extreme form of their ideology so he has to be a leftist.
According to them all mass-murdering dictators are leftists which is baffling to me. Since we even have large numbers of right-wingers currently espousing exactly the same rhetoric Hitler did, and they identify with the right, but their idol is a leftist....
I just have a feeling that Obama and other top officials close to him including the CIA are just letting Trump have his day only to slam him and make it that much sweeter.
Trumpets are going to get even more angrier once they realize Trump isn't going to fix their problems; once they realize he's going to make them worse. Once these Trump supporters (majority of them Republicans/Conservatives) strip themselves of every last bit of ethics in a chauvinistic attempt to support Trump because they cannot back out now without looking dumb. Thats when the Liberals/Democrats/Moderates/Traditional Conservatives will take our country back with complete disregard for what these Trumpets feel/want because Trumpets have proven over and over again to truly being deplorable.
