As for the non-partisan independents. Go look at Trumps approval rating. That should tell you what they think of your golden hero. Indeed I am seeing many previously non-political people that are now becoming very political due to their antipathy to Trump. It's why the crowds at the anti-Trump protests were 2-10x (depending on location) bigger than expected. It was the biggest protest since the Vietnam war.
