I've been saying this for awhile now. It is troubling, I've honestly lost more friends due to that mentality, than due to an actual difference in opinions. And because many of my ideals aren't majority, I'm only losing people- and gaining no one. The few people I still have around are just as worried as me about how people are becoming. There's also the matter of extremism on all sides.
I am left-leaning. Although I don't really like to put a label on my views. Many of mine just happen to align with the left. Particularly in being non-conservative. However, if I say this. Most of the right shun me. On the flipside, I am utterly against all the pc bullshit people are trying to shove down everyone else's throat, and that gets much of the left (Of my generation, at least) going batsh*t crazy. Trying to have a civilized conversation with folks is almost begging for a fight these days. I almost always get shut down. I'm actually more surprised when the opposing argument doesn't figuratively cover their ears and start screaming "LA LA LA LA LA".
