"Your connection to this site is not secure"

Just noticed it with a few browsers in the address page. Is that normal? Instead of the secure thing most sites have there is just the "i" symbol and that message.

Probably because this site doesn't use SSL.

To clarify, it doesn't mean anything weird. Just, if you're on untrustable public wifi, don't PM anyone your credit card information. Maybe don't log in, either.

On some sites that do use HTTPS, getting that message means they have an insecure implementation of SSL (i.e., SSLv2 enabled at all or SSLv3 fallback enabled) or poorly-implemented/-configured TLS.

Alright fair enough. Always on home wifi which is a private network. Just struck me as odd is all.

It's not that your network is necessarily insecure, but that the connection to the website could be snooped by someone with access to any part of the path between your router and the website's server.

Browsers are adding more warnings this month. We don't support SSL on the site, so it warns you. Firefox does something especially fun and the warning is triggered by the pagination form on the front page, even if there is no login form on the page.

As long as there isn't a suspicious van outside of your house that is trying to tap into your wi-fi, you should be fine.

Are there any plans in the future to implement SSL? I know the company I work for hosts sites and we actually require it going forward and are also in the process of applying it retroactively to any existing sites. People tend to be pretty alarmed when they see something like "Insecure" or that super annoying thing Firefox does now.

ublock, ublock origins, Ghostery, you'll never see a single thing again. Get rid of adblock, it went up it's own butthole.
If you are progressing through content just to obtain gear, you are doing it wrong. You, in fact, are doing it exactly backwards.

    Probably will for login pages.

I've noticed this warning in Firefox as well, basically it's due to the page header/login form being served over http and thus vulnerable to malicious JavaScript injection attacks.

Mozilla have a couple articles on this, linked from the very page the Learn More link in the UI takes you to:

    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/...cure_passwords
    https://blog.mozilla.org/tanvi/2016/...r-http-please/

And loading up "https://www.mmo-champion.com/" results in a very broken site due to mixed-content getting blocked by default

It happens even when you are logged in because of the form with different page numbers at the bottom of the front page. Something is wrong with their detection or it is overly aggressive.

ad block stopped being enough a few weeks ago for me. I switched to uBlock Origin

Weird, logged in and not seeing that, only the grey (i) info button. Tried both a multi page forum thread and the main page.
Only when logged out does the grey padlock with red strikeout show up next to the info button.

Just trying to be helpful, don't mind me - sorry if more of a nuisance

It appears on http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/ for me even when logged in
