    Uh..huh

    11 dungeons vs 8 dungeons
Hundreds of world quests vs 12 AP quests.
20 boss tier vs 17 boss tier.
1 endgame zone vs no endgame zone
11 world bosses vs 3 world bosses

Lets look at 7.2 and 6.2

1 new raid vs 1 new raid (makes it 4-3)
1 new zone vs 2 new zones
1 new dungeon vs no new dungeons
Legion invasions world content vs no new world content
    Pvp brawls vs Ashran update.

    And were getting a 7.3
    World of Warcraft: Shadowblands
    Diablo Bore.

This is a recent trend which really reached its highpoint with Legion.

They try to make people think that they are releasing content twice.

They release Legion, but they don't release raids right away. They release the first raid a while after that, and hold back the second raid for several months.

Then they release 7.1, but they hold back Trial of Valor for several weeks.

They release Nighthold weeks after that, bit by bit for LFR players, which is the majority of players.

And now 7.2 will be released several weeks, if not months, from now, and then the actual raid will come later.

That way they create the illusion that there is always new content.

But in reality, you're getting less content than we used to get back in Vanilla and TBC days, or even Wrath.
You do realise that even when they shift raid release dates it's still done consistently. Nobody in their right mind is so unbelievably stupid as to believe think that Blizzard is trying to get away with the illusion of releasing content twice. Please tell me you're not so laughably dumb as to reach that conclusion and that this is a joke.

Well that's a stupid thing to say. If all raid content is staggered by a week or two then all you've done is shifted the steady stream of content forward a bit. It's relative.

That's his point, though. The same amount of content one patch gave in the past is now thinned out and stretched over a period of time. Presumably to keep subs up and have less lulls, which is good. The counterpoint would be that we just had our first tier (launch tier) open after half a year of the expansion being out, compared to every expansion before MoP opening with multiple raids not gated.

If they've been doing it for three expansions in a row, they've got stats to back up that this is the right thing to do to keep subs as high as possible and earn the most amount of money. Feels a bit dirty to me personally, but I can see the appeal to more casual players who log in a few times a week to do a dungeon and LFR and emissary quests. This is also in line with all the forced time-gating this expansion has. It can be brute-forced, but it will require more time invested. With how WoD and Legions outdoor content has been, WoW is now officially the most casual its been outside of mythic raiding. For a different audience than before.

So well WoW population is below that of Classic, and that the unsub rate is the highest the game has ever seen.

Actually what they are doing is releasing the class changes prior to the raid launching so people have a chance to get used to them and they can make balance changes prior to the raid being launched. If anything it is a well thought out and executed plan. But you can keep the tinfoil hat.

As for less content then Vanilla. BWL was launched in June 2005, next content was 4 months later in September with ZG, and then AQ in January 3rd, 2006 but the gates would not open for another month to 2 months depending on the realm(some even later). Lastly Naxx40 launched in June 2006. Seems like 3 raids in 3 months is more content to me.

Probably. But i'll take what we have now over the shitstorm that WoD ended up being.

If you are fooled into thinking it's an ""illusion" then you are a fool. It's pretty obvious that its time gated content.

Honestly, it is whatever you want it to be. It's up to you if you want to make that good for bad.
