The Colonial Marines that participated in the burning were largely escaped slaves recruited in Virginia. (The third stanza of the Star Spangled Banner refers to them.)
Hes trying to take credit for the war of 1812. Canadians always try to do that despite the fact England did all the work and it wasn't even a victory but a draw.
Huh? That makes no sense... How did Canada win this one even though they weren't in this war?
