Prepare to be let down in 2.47 years. Last backlog anime (at least of > last season) watched was mid-last season and took me 3 weeks to go through ><

Originally started watching this with Emo a while ago and just got around to finishing it. Pretty fun time and did the whole MMO thing alright. For me, it picked up on the latter half and now I'm fairly excited for the movie coming out. Don't have anything grandiose or in-depth to say otherwise.

Overlord is a case where I thought the expansion of the story in the light novels did wonders. As you said the show is alright, but nothing to go nuts over. But as it pursues the implications further on in the story it gets significantly better.

The base premise of the anime isn't exactly crazy innovative. It is kind of neat that the NPCs do come alive, but this is only natural because the rest of the real players have since logged out. Maybe this is an LN spoiler, but possibly he is not the only human still left in the game? Either way, the fight with Shalltear was neat and done very well in my opinion. The last episode gave some insight into more plot possibilities and directions. I'm not really one to read source material to continue on if the anime ends abruptly, however. Am pretty hyped for the movie now.
