Gold edition contains every DLC except the Shadows of the Hist as far as I'm informed.

And I just checked and Steam has a sale as well now, which got me wondering for anyone more knowledgable: is there any difference between playing on steam or just the regular launcher?

Well I bought this game last week so I could play with an old friend who recommended this, paid $30 for the base game and was surprised how much that didn't include, it looks like half the game map is inaccessible without the dlc's and I couldn't play the race I wanted and be in my buddies faction without buying an upgrade. Now the game is on sale for 50%, and I could have had all those dlc's for the same price I paid originally. Frustrating.

On the plus side I like the combat and graphics. Quests aren't terrible either.

OT: ESO's Gold edition is #2 on Steam currently, also someone found in the game files what seems to indicate wielding 1 handed weapons and runes simultaneously, rather than dual wielding swords.

Yes, Marrowind is $40 for the stand-alone "adventure" or whatever they're calling it (no other DLC/content included).

I believe you can get the guilds and glory pack on the crown store. Same thing as gold edition for 5500 crowns which is £23.99 here. Not sure how much it is over in the US or EU.

I don't think they ever have sales for the crowns themselves, just for what you can purchase with the crowns.

So, for someone who has never played the game (barring an hour or so back when I purchased the Imperial Edition a couple years ago) and also knows nothing of the game at all, in fact nothing of the world at all (about an hour of Skyrim played too), is there a class that plays like a WoW death knight - wielding a two-hander, smashing mobs around the head and using dark/necromantic/death magic?

Any useful resources for a complete and utter newbie?
