People must be ignoring that this isn't an isolated case. This is a full grown adult basically cyberstalking multiple kids and teenagers, attacking them online through fake accounts to get around blocks, spreading rumors, blackmailing them, and putting new rumors at their new schools and such when the kids try to flee.

It's not a case of a kid calling some other kid and idiot or threatening to take their lunch money.

The guy had double digit counts of shit from cyberstalking to blackmail to possession of child porn. It's also a full grown adult targeting young kids. He was attacking kids by blackmailing them, blasting them with a ton of fake accounts, and following their schools to spread rumors. Then was exploiting them for child pornography.

Just because they say mean things or make people laugh at you doesn't mean that you should have a nanny state to protect your precious little feelings. There are many things in this world that can and do cause permanent psychological problems, being called names isn't a cause of trauma for normal mentally stable people. If you have a child (or you yourself) that is so unstable or mentally weak that being called names causes them to kill themselves then maybe they should be in a nice safe padded hospital room where they can be protected and helped to develop effective ways to process adverse interactions.
