Maybe the people saying "it's just mean words" actually can't read.
Or maybe they're just edge-lords.

A year or two ago there was a campaign by the entertainment industry to help out gay teens, all these famous people would say "things get better", meaning that once you get past your teen years things get much much better.
Shame that was mostly directed at gay teens, it's a good message for all teens.

Good, it's time that the internet isn't a law-free zone and things that will get you in trouble in real life (like stalking, harassing, death threats) should get you in trouble online.
Atoms are liars, they make up everything!
When the fuck has it become so damn sexy to protect absolute dickheads who want nothing but to hurt, instead of protecting their victims? Seriously, some answers in this thread really boggle my mind."Hurr, durr, must protect the right of adults to bringing teenagers to brink of suicide or actually pushing them over! They could have just not cared, lelelelel!"
And no, this shit has nothing to do with Anita Sarkasian or some perceived feminine agenda, this is about people not being absolute utter vile douchebags. If you can't see why a man who systematically harassed a teenager and tried to destroy her life should get punished, you really need your head checked, period.
I mean, they didn't force her to drink Bleach. 11 years is pretty fucking stupid considering people go to jail for less for Rape.
Seen quite a Few cases in Australia where it ranges from anything from a year or 2, to about 9. Was one story of a Cab driver sexually assaulting passed out Women in his Taxi and he got like 3 months.

That's not exactly edge, it's moreso realism.
Sadly, judging by the recent moods in Europe and US, I'm afraid that any attempts to deal with this issue will ultimately be branded as liberal leftists enforcing hated political correctness propaganda upon the good and honest folk.
I have enough of EA ruining great franchises and studios, forcing DRM and Origin on their games, releasing incomplete games only to sell day-1 DLCs or spill dozens of DLCs, and then saying it, and microtransactions, is what players want, stopping players from giving EA games poor reviews, as well as deflecting complaints with cheap PR tricks.
I'm not going to buy any game by EA as long as they continue those practices.

It was quite common when I was a young teen to have guys add me and turn on their webcam to show me their dick and ask me to show something in return. At that age you're somewhat oblivious to the fact that you can just close the conversation and be done with it. One guy asked me if I had "hair on it", and when I replied yes, he asked me to prove it because he didn't believe me. Fortunately I didn't bite, but I imagine some do.
These were mostly just older teens or guys in their 20s. It's quite disturbing.
B.a.e: overusing edgy and other hipster words needs to stop!
Now, I've seen that video and have been familiar with her case long before this thread and my opinion still stands: mother is the biggest culprit in this, than the girl and than the scumbag. Parents should be aware what their child is doing online, kid should not drop their cloths for anyone on the internet (bad parenting) and the scumbag shouldn't spread child porn....in this order.
..sigh
yes, she and many other kids make dumb decisions.
yes, kids should be better educated.
yes, parents should more involved in their kids online activity.
yes, cyberbulling is a too much diluted phrase these days and robs those that really need it from the help they need.
no, none of the above should excuse that piece of shit person from anything he did, and he deserves the sentence.

Don't you find it deliciously ironic to approach someone with the idea of a collective responsibility, then have that person smugly defend their exclusion from it, and then in the same breath accuse you of being defensive?
Or you know what's really cringey? When someone says they're being attacked, and they're just defending themselves... and then in the same argument they attempt to explain to you how they're not being defensive. Lol, that's a goofy one. :^)
Also, don't you find it rather cringey when someone takes their time to "reread the thread" and then edit his post all for the sake of publicly stating his own reassurance. Seems a bit... try-hardish, wouldn't you agree?
Anyway, let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
