You aren't really suppose to think about this kind of news. Your train of thought should be:

Trump Campaign Aides rumoured to have spoke to Russian Intelligence..... That must mean Trump did it too.... That must mean Trump is speaking to Russian Intelligence right now... that must mean Trump is a Russian plant, selling America's secrets to the Russians for profit!

Basically, you need to develop long-jumping skills, or really, really long arms in order to get anything out of news these days.

Perhaps the most hilarious of these is the recent PewDiePie thing. Yes, PewDiePie is now a nazi.

But, is he? Well, what did he do? - he dressed up as a Nazi, and watched Hitler speeches on camera. Pretty weird, right?

Why did he do it ? I shit you not - he did it, and says so in the video - because he knew the media would take him out of context and call him a Nazi.

    Seriously.

Like wrap your head around that for a second.

Guy: Watch this, I can make the news lie on command.

Guy: Hey guys i'm going to dress up as a Nazi to point out the media is fake as fuck

    *dresses up as a Nazi*

    News:

People do not like to read the full article before jumping to conclusions. In paragraph 3, it clearly says there is no evidence that Trump had any involvement. But I guess reading that far into a long story is too much to ask these days. This entire thread reminds me of what Nancy Pelosi did by making a fool of herself calling out the president over a fake tweet and giving us a lesson on what a scapegoat is. Sometimes I wonder if these reporters and democrats even deserve my attention.

That is absolutely true, and even if there is evidence I don't think any news outlet has made any claim that Trump personally participated in any of these conversations (?). But I have no doubt whatsoever that if this was happening the other way around, Trump would be calling his opponent's leadership qualities, ethics and overall integrity into question over this.

That is just it. It did happen to the other side. This is just another example of the permanent government like the FBI,CIA releasing information without having all the details. It is news like this that makes me agree with the president and that the permanent government is the entity that needs to be investigated. Apparently they can;t keep their mouth shut no matter who is in office.

Most of this thread is people mocking the idea of 'fake news'

This is fake news, at least not a full lie, but the route they are taking it is a slippery slope fallacy, or as good as a lie

Fake news isn't new. Do people really not remember Fox News in 2008? If people seriously think that the media is not lying to them, or very obviously trying to stir up the cult of outrage, then.. what is the response to that other than to call them idiots?

Do you remember when the tea party protestors marched on the White House, were interviewed as to why they were there and their response was "uhhh, to fix our views?" - how is this not different to leftist protests marching through the streets, being interviewed as to why they are there and their response is "uhhh, to fight hate?"

Other parallels - Fox News vs CNN, both as bad as each other, yet CNN was the supposed good network... now its Fox News.. what? Did Fox News just get a new set of ethics over night? No, of course not. They're media with an agenda, and all liars.

There is quite an over-used, but extremely precise term for people in this thread and people in general - useful idiots. Useful idiots with good intentions.

Listen - pretty much every collective has good intentions. The communists just want everyone to be equal! The leftists want to fight hate! The religious just want to save people! The nazis just want a better germany, for germans!

Good intentions are irrelevant - every fucking collective has them. When you can be led by the nose based on nothing but good intentions, you've given up your mental faculties to propaganda.

Shouting "fake news" before even investigating for yourself, is being a good-intentioned, useful idiot. You just want the media to be truthful, you just want a better America!

Mocking the idea of "fake news" when it very clearly is fake news, or non news, is being a good-intentioned, useful idiot. You just want want to stop the nazis! You just want a better America! yay!

Ideas are just that. Ideas - Communism is a great fucking idea in practice, the reality of communism is about a hundred million dead people.

People need to recognise when they fall victim to double-think, knee-jerking and other forms of illogical 'thinking'

Christopher Hitchens once said he pitied those that had to rely on newspapers and the TV to get their news. He said that during the Bush Administration. Do you think he wouldn't be saying it during the Obama, or Trump administrations? I think thats highly unlikely.

But seriously, so? There's this thing called "diplomacy" where people talk to other countries. "BUT BUT, THEY'RE REALLY CLOSE AND SHARING INFORMATION!" So? How do you think you build better relationships with a country? Trust.

Also, I read the articles and it's literally just speculation. Jesus guys...
They weren't members of the government when they were talking to foreign intelligence agents. The administration even just recently said that no such contact happened.

Why aren't you knee-jerking one way or the other? This clearly either total lies, or PROOF that trump is a secret Russian.

CAN I GET TRUMPS BIRTH CERTIFICATE? TRUMP IS PUTINS BROTHER CONFIRMED

Wrong. That's NOT what paragraph 3 says. Learn to read, hypocrite.

While there's evidence that Trump aides did have extensive communications with Russian intelligence, paragraph 3 says there's no evidence of cooperation yet. So we have established: 1. Trump aides communicated extensively with Russian intelligence, 2. Russian intelligence actively worked to help elect Trump.

WASHINGTON — Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.

American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee, three of the officials said. The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.

The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.

There is plenty to make it plausible, that is if you had any clue about the usual parameters. AFAIK, unlike myself you have no training, experience or associations to know how likely or unlikely Flynn or Priebus is to be a plant. I'm certainly not the only former or current person in the field to have considered it, and that's all I'll say.

To talk straight out of ones ass as a layman about this is what's stupid, weird, and funny.

I imagine the Trump Team would love to know whatever Russian Intelligence has on ISIS since ISIS is a common enemy. I doubt the Russians would share anything else.

You're standing on a pedestal telling everyone they're wrong and its obvious they're wrong.

When asked to clarify "ahh, you wouldn't understand"

When asked why we wouldn't understand "ahh, you don't have the experience i have"

You are a dunce. You have mastered the 'art' of speaking without saying anything.

It doesn't matter. If he was doing this before his inauguration, then he acted illegally.

Hey, I've never said I have anything against Bush. On most lists I see Bush tends to be on the bottom.

I have indeed seen that he seems pretty polite and respectful when interacting with others.

Trump, on the other hand.. At least his polls are good. I heard the negative ones are fake news, so..

You can assume whatever you'd like. I've simply put it out there as a very plausible alternative to what some here have said.
