Even if the lawsuit is out of goodness, it'll still be reflected badly upon the media as most people in the entire world is living at or below the poverty line. (depends on the localizations)
Needless to say, she could've kept quiet about winning the lottery (which is a wise decision by itself) and rather save the money for later on as we never know how the world economy will be in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years and so on.
She could have easily dodged a lot of bullets by keeping some things to herself, but with the lawsuit she is aiming straight for her foot, asper social groups' perceptions.
that... entirely depends on what you are trying to begin. because a single million for me? I'd be goddamn set. now mind you. I woudln't be spending it on designer clothes or new fancy cars or any of that other transient stuff. but it would pay off mine AND my parents mortgage, get rid of what's left of the student loans, pay for major house renovations, get a backup (used not new) car, a few other things, a chunk invested and I would still have a nice emergency fund left over. and its amazing how much you can accomplish when thanks to no debt and housing taken care of - your general living expenses become MUCH lower. a million is only "not that much money" if you don't know how to manage it. aka, don't drastically change your damn lifestyle, unless you know you can maintain that level of income.
Wtf... the world is seriously done for.
It needs to end with a big bang!
Not a really strong case I would think.
Then again, the judges these days often seem just as crazy as the people suing these days.
Same as welfare, you dont value money you havent earned.
Bitch must need more money then.
Money talks, bullshit walks..
1.3 million dollars?? Can't even pay for a third of the price of my parent's home in Orange County. Congratulations! She thought she struck it big and went around the wold, got nice cars etc., but probably has nothing left. who knew that without cash flow coming in that money dissapears..
Not when it comes to lottery etc.
Casinos have 18 as the age limit but "lighter" gambling has 16 as the restriction which is partly what this lawsuit is about.

All comes down to location, while you'd be able to afford all that with a million, I would be able to buy a cheap house and decorate it, then the money would be gone, no savings, no car etc.
She voluntarily accepted the outcomes of winning the lottery by buying a lottery ticket and engaging the act of gambling. Cut and dry case.
Liberal but not Democrat.
I heard this on the radio yesterday or the day before, I was laughing so fucking hard.
Lottery company offered financial advice, but she denied. Great idea.
