"Not real racism" is approximately the same thing as when they were calling anyone who didn't vote for Trump "Not a real American".

It doesn't actually mean anything, and when confronted with logic they just realize that they're projecting their own opinion as if it was fact.

So after 41 pages, has anyone in this thread actually said "Yeah, I thought Trump would be good, but after a month I've realized he's really really really terrible"?

I'm guessing not, because he's doing every single one of us with two firing brain cells knew he would do. He's just as terrible as we knew he would be. Those who supported him despite him being an incredibly obvious terrible human being did so in the face of overwhelming evidence, so I seriously doubt anyone who wanted to "wait and see" will be convinced he's bad despite anything he does. He could launch a bunch of nukes against Europe tomorrow and they'd just look for some kind of justification and start vomiting that up.

Well yes, it's also a No True Scotsman fallacy. Except that racism does have an actual meaning, and discrimination based on race -- to the point of being sued by the federal government, and losing, twice -- fits that meaning exactly.
@mage21 at least had the right idea by denying only a single case, rather than trying a blanket statement.

I dont give a shit about who the US voted for and I dont give a crap about Trump. He is the next 4 or 5 years entertainment. As long as he does not fuck with the rest of world, keep that president and you can come up with whatever comical excuse as to why he is fit. In the meantime I have my popcorn and I am laughing my socks off at the sheer stupidity of the man you elected.
Why the fuck should we care what non-American's think? Who is knocking it out of the park exactly? China? Germany? France? Sweden? Mexico? Iran? Russia? The UK? Those who live in glass houses.

The only thing common about all those countries is everyone there, wants to be here. You obviously do give a fuck who we voted for otherwise you wouldn't be crying about it on here. Enjoy your laughter, well enjoy leaders who aren't afraid to address issues people actually care about.

I dont know anyone that wishes to be in the US (I am a brit living in Paris). We dont care who you voted for but know that your president is a laughing stock everywhere in the world :-)

You think El Trump care about the issues people care about... issues that are due to bad management by the US administration of their ressources and labor?

Ok I ll go for that, but will you have the courage in a few years time to admit that you were wrong? That is the true test of a democracy. We get liars that promise stuff and dont deliver but then we must not fall for the lies of the next one.

In any case, I wish you good luck with your president. Really and sincerely, good luck.

Interesting read here, from a guy who ran international disaster response under Obama, including the Ebola crisis. Pretty long chain of tweets, but basically Trump is shitting up everything that we use to handle disease outbreaks.

This is not a partisan issue. Trump has no fucking idea how the government works, and is either ruining things directly or letting his inner circle do it for him by proxy.

Starting from the top; we had Bernie Sanders who, for all his faults, was trying to win the hearts and minds of the people. Unfortunately once the primaries came closer, Bernie was betrayed by his own people through the DNC. What's worse is that he went on to endorse the very people who betrayed him once he lost!

Moving forward we have: Hillary Clinton. To discredit HRC all you have to do is spend twenty minutes browsing through http://www.mostdamagingwikileaks.com/

This is a woman who openly participated in unethically colluding with the DNC against Bernie Sanders, a woman who stole hundreds of millions of dollars in charity, a woman who openly accepted campaign funds from countries that she knew supported ISIS.

Then we have Donald Trump, a "reality TV celebrity" who was caught on audio saying "grab her by the pussy".

And so when you're presented with all these "choices" it's actually quite tough to make an educated decision. It feels less like a "job interview" and more like a "let's get this the fuck over with" sort of event.
There are two "buts", however. One "but" is the fact that both Hillary and Bernie, with all their flaws, have had a tremendous amount of experience in the field. Another is that both Hillary and, to a bit lesser extent, Bernie talk like very intelligent, well educated, professional adults, able to articulate their complex thoughts in a coherent manner; Trump can't say two words without sounding like a mentally challenged middle school kid, and he keeps bragging about his wealth and lashing at everyone who dares criticize him for anything.

While it is true that the choices this time around weren't exactly stellar, there is no doubt that Trump was the worst candidate among both all Democrat and all Republican primaries contestants, plus all the independent and 3rd party runners. He was literally the only one among all who isn't able to act like a responsible adult. There is no point somehow justifying him winning the election, we just have to admit that Americans have made a dumb choice.

They are cheering on and wishing for the deaths of kids. This kind of people only exist on the far right, no matter how despicably people on the far left can behave.

I think it's remarkable that Trump is likely the last Baby Boomer President (and 2016 was almost certainly the last year two baby boomers run), and not one of them actually served in Vietnam.

Fitting capstone for a miserable, egocentric generation that has spent the past 25 years systematically looting and plundering what their parents had built. The Greatest Generation (and their parents) built the Post-1945 American led world order. It's really not all that surprising that their children end their run in power by having Trump be the man attempting to dynamite it.

It's one of those pejorative terms that doesn't actually mean anything at this point. When objectivist call others "snowflakes", the unique nature of an individual in objectivism is meaningless.

I mean, anyone that was paying attention should have come to this realization a year ago. After just one month in office I don't see how any sane human can think he and his band of deplorables could be construed in anyway as 'good' for the country.

Well maybe, just maybe he could be construed as having a positive impact if in the long run his horror show of a Presidency ignites the consistent interest of more of the population in politics, both local and national.

You are not wrong. I don't think the fact that all this political turbulence (Trump, bre-exit, etc) is occurring just as boomers start hitting the graveyard is a coincidence. As the most selfish and narcissistic generation this world has ever seen, they were never going to go in any way other than kicking and screaming at full tilt. In truth power should have been fully handed over to their children a decade ago, but their selfishness and narcissism would not let them do that. So now we will have to pry their cold dead hands off the tiller before they do even more damage.

History will not remember them kindly.

The polls show he was going to lose the popular vote by 4 points and he lost by 2. That 2 point error is more accurate than the 3 point error in the 2012 polling (Obama +1 predicted, Obama +4 actual). So, no, polling in general isn't wrong, dummy.
