The majority of the well trained assets are located in defensive positions, particularly across from China both on the Russian border and in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. This presents a large problem, since the unfortunate problem of, say, the special forces paratroopers is that utilizing them without catastrophic losses depends on air superiority, and technology wise the US outstrips them in nearly every demographic (the exception being fighter on fighter dogfights).
