I don't find it weird at all. The intelligence community did the same thing during the elections to get trump to a presidency. Many of the same "country over party" dipshits that saw the same thing everyone else did now want the same people to do the same thing to trump. Their issue is just hatred and vitriol. That dossier had absolutely nothing to do with US intelligence agencies. It was written by the ex-head of the British intelligence services Russia bureau, while working as a private sector contractor for Republican and Democrat opposition research. The only reason it got into the hands of the FBI was because this ex-MI6 agent obtained information from his contacts that he thought was so alarming, that Trumps election would endanger western security (and he was correct on that front), and as a result he was duty bound to pass it on. Moreover, your suggestion that it was somehow fabricated is wrong. Large sections of it have now been proven to be correct. The rest we don't know about but that large sections are now known to be correct, lends credence to the fact that the rest is also.

Here is what happened. In the 1980s and 1990s, in schools they taught us " you are going to need a college education for the jobs of the future". So what happened is the dumb lazy kids ignored that advice and were under the assumption that you could graduate from high school, get a factory job, and work that factory job for the next 40 years and be middle-class American. That is the what ´Make america great again´ is all about. It is the belief that we can go back to the 1960s and have HS graduates working in car factories and be secure middle class. Trump´s supporters are mainly people working manual labor, no brain, jobs that are dwindling, and at the same time not paying enough to be middle-class anymore. Coal Miner´s, Rust Belt etc. And what Trump and others have done is blame that on immigration... when in fact, it is globalization that ´rightly´ caused the death of middle-class factory jobs.

Here is my quote on immigrants. If you were born in the most powerful country on earth, you were given access to free high school education and for most of us, almost free college educations..... and you are ´losing´ your job to a mexican immigrant with a third grade education who doesn´t speak english and had no opportunity for any type of education.. If you are losing your job to that immigrant, the problem is NOT with immigration.

I come from a small coal town in central Pennsylvania. I see all of my former classmates, the ones who did nothing in HS... they are all Trumpsters who want coal mining jobs to come back that pay middle-class salaries. It is never going to happen, not because of Mexico, and not even because of China, but because of the world. The world is too big and there are too many really poor countries for anyone to make US middle-class salaries doing brain-dead work that does not require an education.

In the absence of congressional action what else is there to hope for? Wait two years and replace them. I'm not sure if I believe there is such a thing as the "deep state" though. At least in the sense that there is something there with goals of it's own and leadership of its own. It's just the manifestation of the government bureaucracy. It has no real goal other than it's own survival at heart. People want to keep their jobs. So I guess if the administration threatens it with it's own destruction it would probably unite against a common enemy.
