Blaming this on socialism? Emm, then why this does not happen in Scandinavia? Stop mixing things up.
Also, when the Maduro is going to finally fall? Not that it would solve their problems...
You mean a country that relied on a SINGLE resource to fund their entire economy went under when that one resource tanked? You don't say.
Oh right i forgot.
When capitalistic systems fail its capitalism fault
When socialist systems fail its capitalism fault.
My bad folks.

I mean the situation is absolutely Venezuela's fault. They built an economy on a single market and that market, like every market, didn't last forever. That's not really an issue of socialism, its an issue of governance. Heavy oil economies are suffering all over, they just did a better job diversifying for the most part.
Capitalism is just as much to blame as Socialism for this mess. But I think the biggest offender was general incompetence and relying too heavily on a single market to make money. Which, it did make them enough money to pursue their heavily socialized government for a time, but when it stopped doing so they should've hit the breaks so everything didn't crash.
Good, those chunky south american asses are a bad trend anyway.
I'm going to have to look up more from this journalist. But I'm having trouble finding anything. When I google the name "Tyler Durden" I get two different faces and the only other materials I've been able to find though appear to be about an underground boxing club and something called "Project: Mayhem".

If anything it started with Chavez
"The global oil boom simply allowed Venezuela, which sits on the world’s largest proven oil reserves, to mask many of the harmful effects of Chavez’s socialist economic policies. Now that oil prices have collapsed, so has Venezuela’s economic performance."
"After Chavez’s first five years, they find that Venezuela’s income per capita was more than $3,500 below what should have been expected. Even during the subsequent oil boom, its income per capita never closed to within $2,500 of its predicted value."
Chavez and his policies only masked the bigger problem they relied too heavily on oil and the policies he had in place for when Maduro came in place ended up combining with that and the collapse of oil to really just tank their economy hard. instead of trying to increase the income of the poor they reduced the income of the wealthy which didn't work out amongst many other things.

Someone should make a counter thread over North Korea and democracy.

Prediction for the future
It's even more amazing now with that shit article being posted twice now lol. Written by Benjamin Powell, director of the "Free Market Institute" and itself providing no direct sources. The King of Sweatshops and head of a free market think tank, surely there's no agenda at play.
