It is my understanding that she was not meeting the president and the headscarf is not a requirement for women in Lebanon. She was meeting a religious figure. If this is true, context matters. I remember my father having to wait outside a monastery in Romania because he was wearing shorts not many years ago. Care to explain that middle age thing?

Europe needs to make it clear that radical islam, wahhabism isn't welcomed in Europe and that all who practice and share such beliefs should be prosecuted. You can't import your middle age logic and customs into the modern world.

Same backward religious fanatics. Only difference is that are real islamists countries where that's the law while there is little to no country that imposes that strict christian customs. And your father could have entered the monastery anyhow it's not like they will call the "christian police" to escort him outside. They will make comments about it and that's about it. While islamists will most likely try to kill you as they done times and times again to people that don't follow their customs or mock or comment about their middle age religion!

Right. Is Lebanon one of those? I heard the women there are quite fond of choosing their own clothes, but they indeed dont like shorts.
And my father is not the leader of a far-right party who needs to win some votes and has some decent bone in his body and respected their decision, not willing to disturb the site, lol.

If she has balls she should visit one of those countries you most likely mean in your posts. I doubt she will.

Is there a reason to not hate Islam? I know this is a stretch... but have you ever considered learning what is you are actually defending? The relgion makes mein kampf look like the teletubbies.

My point is that you accused him of something he didn´t do. Nothing about his post was apologetic. He pointed out the hypocrisy and the publicity stunt.

Read the Quran. Honestly do it for yourself not me. The fact you think it iscomparable to Christianity in teachings is laughable. Beyond it being the same god they have little in common.

Please do not call people more educated then yourself retarded as well. It doesn't help your case of blindly defending anything for a moral high ground.

"My god's better than your god!" "Nuh-uh!" "Yuh-huh!" <That's what it sounds like when people argue over whether Christianity or Islam is worse. The fact of the matter is, just like any religion, it's not the old fairytale you subscribe to, it's how you carry yourself. There are something to the tune of a billion or so Muslims on the planet and a couple dozen thousand of them are militant radicals.

If Islam was really this violent, monstrous religion people are making it out to be (rather than, y'know, acknowledging that most Muslims ignore the parts that call for killing like modern Christians ignore the bits about selling one's daughter to her rapist or stoning their wives for speaking in church because that shit doesn't work in modern society) they'd have run rampant over the entire world and wiped western civilization out through sheer numbers. Instead, we see pockets of highly-publicized violence from extreme elements because it plays well to the xenophobes. Nothing assuages someone like a healthy dose of confirmation bias.

Your gods both suck because they've done nothing to improve the state of the world. Time to put on your big-boy pants and follow that inconvenient bit about loving your neighbor as yourself, and taking care of immigrants as your own because God's faithful were once aliens in the lands of Egypt. Seacrest, out.

I suggest you read the bible especially the old testament all religions are horrible, Christianity doesn't get a pass.

Most of them don't live in modern society. They live in shit hole third world countries under Sharia Law. You're engaging in your own confirmation bias. Sweden is currently experiencing Muslim migrants, who have lived under radical Islam their entire lives, running rampant. They even let them in. Most religion is shit but Islam is especially shit right now. This isn't racism or some xenophobia nonsense. It's stating the damn obvious.

Islam IS and CAN be adopted to modern society, and for many Muslims it has, but not for those in those countries. Most Muslims DO NOT LIVE in countries that have 'modern society.'

The difference here is the old testament of Christianity isn't practiced by basically any number of people worth mentioning. It's been gutted of violence. Islam hasn't finished that process yet.

That's because people naturally pick and choose what they wish to follow in the quran.
Which happen also in other religions, including christianity. Ans which is a good thing, a very good thing.
People reject some tenet from the quran because it conflict with their morality.

Islam is violent in nature, only have to read the quran and its multiple calls to slaughter or enslave non believers. But such warmongering mentality is no longer viable in modern society, especially when your society is in the wrong end of technology. Sword and dagger won't do much against air carrier full of fighter jet and bombers.

Ironocally, holding to religious belief so tightly hindered the scientific developement of these countries. Before the rise of the prophet mohammed, the arab civilization was very advanced, perhaps one of the most advanced in the world. They developed algebra, science, commerce...

I'm still curious what views of her's in particular have earned her the whole 'far right wing' tag she always gets in us media. From what I see it has more to do with her party affiliation and just wanting less entanglement with the eu. Is there any other real basis for referring to her as a right wing politician? I feel that term is way overused as a form of fearmongering by western media. I mean they use it on Trump all the time when he doesn't even have that many far right views by American political standards. He's actually more moderate than most of the guys he ran against to win.

I have heard almost nothing good about Le Pen. On the topic of head coverings for women when interacting with foreign dignitaries, I think it's a nice gesture that shows respect to host culture/nation but it should be nowhere near required for a woman to wear one. It shouldn't be seen as placating if you choose to wear one, rather a gesture of goodwill, just as it shouldn't be seen as insulting if you choose to not wear one.

I disagree with a ban on religious head coverings that Le Pen espouses, I do not see the value in such legislation. I view that as an overall attack on religious freedom.

I think she is an utter fool for pledging to scrap gay marriage though. Especially since she had seen a real upsurge in LGBT support before declaring her intentions for gay marriage and adoption law changes.
What justification does Le Pen have to be against gay marriage? God I feel sorry for LBGT individuals, constantly getting shit on by the right. Can't make them feel like human beings or anything, gotta take away their rights to placate some fundamentalist minority group

"I personally don't like something even though it's not harming me at all personally, let's take away all of these people's rights" is not a good solution to anything.

As despicable as she is, she is nothing like your beloved Trump, Orlong. With all her flaws, corruption and crazy views, she has a lot of grey matter in the head, and she would laugh at most of your threads and most of Trump's words.
