Well at least they're not planning protests on command centers.
He probably is tbh - a republican voting dixiecrat who joined the democrats decades ago that just hasn't bothered to change his voting affiliation.
......And remind me again why did the dixiecrats swap from the democratic party to the republican party (hint : Ransath is a real American)
If Republicans would get out of identity politics, you wouldn't have to deal with so many of those evil liberals fighting back so much. Stop trying to pass legislature on who's sleeping with who, who's marrying who. Stop trying to pass legislature based on religion, this country is supposed to have a separation of church and state. Stop trying to control the black vote (North Carolina, here's looking at you). Stop trying to pass legislation controlling women's bodies. This is why you get so much backlash from the progressives. America was founded on being a melting pot. It was built on this idea. A place safe from religious persecution. A place where anyone can come to make a life. What happened to the land of the free?
The only thing i want politicians talking about are the economy, crime, infrastructure, healthcare, and foreign policy. Otherwise, let people live their lives without being looked down on because their life style doesn't line up with yours.

You clearly forgot the riots and protests that happened, especially in the south, after Obama won.
On topic though, they're a great idea but sadly many of the GOP politicians are trying to weasel out of it given how they've handled previous ones. The GOP is in a shit spot, especially because of Trump, with many of their actual policies being very unpopular despite being voted back in. They aren't going to participate, and are actively even finding any excuse to not show up now, after being called out on their shit.
Note that this isn't about dangers of riots or anything. This is about people like Chaffetz, and many other Republicans recently, citing any totally ludicrous reason to dodge difficult questions and/or cancel all future townhall meetings because they were asked such questions and their constituents got angry at the dodging and Mick Foley style crowd pandering.
Where do people find all this time to protest?
Oh right, they don't have Jobs.
Most town hall participants are working class middle aged and senior Americans. There have been media coverage of most of them and it's almost entirely 40-50 year old working people or retired seniors.
The younger generations are protesting via internet and community rallying mostly.

If they don't have jobs where do they get the travel and living expenses >.>
Anyways have you seen the footage? The protesters at the town halls aren't a bunch of kids if that was going to be your next excuse.
The Tea Party was organized, but fed off real sentiment among some people that brought about change in politics in this nation. While you're dismissing them these people have a right to petition their representative actually represent them. The question now is if democrats are going to face challenges from the left, like the tea party did to republicans from the right?
