The right has just said they will have zero tolerance for Nazi type of thinking(lets not pretend this wasn't a reaction to allegations from the left that the right not only coexisted with Nazi's but encouraged them), i was asking when and if the left will do the same for communist type thinking. Because both extremes are the reason the divide between the left and right is growing, and they both feed off of each other.

I say this as a member of the right: the left has nothing remotely comparable or as numerous as the insidious alt-right. It simply does not exist. And if you think about it, that entirely makes sense: we're a center-right nation after all. There is more diversity on the right than the left.

The right has a unique problem in American politics and we need to clean house. There is no balance here with liberals. The most liberal things liberals have done in the past 30 years was put Bernie Sanders up as a primary candidate. In the grand scheme of things, not terribly offensive. Republicans have as their President a guy who waffled in condemning David Duke because he treasured the racist vote.

CPAC has been conservative in name only for years. Trump remains unacceptable to a huge number of conservatives as a whole.

The problem with the GOP is one of backbone. They decided long ago winning and selling their soul was a better option than losing with dignity. But the GOP is not synonymous with conservatives,and neither are synonymous with the alt-right infestation.

Trump has an 84% approval rating among conservatives, which is pretty much exactly the same as past republican presidents. He isn't unacceptable to conservatives, he embodies what they are. Republicans have for a long long time been the party of bigots racists and white nationalism and just cloaked it with dog-whistle speak and platitudes to get others to vote for them. If this wasn't evident before it certainly is now, and unfortunately I think its you that is in the wrong party, not them.
