Anyone can RSVP for an event and get a reminder email.

The intensity at the town halls is so high that more than 200 elected officials have reportedly abandoned public forums in February entirely.

Where politicians are cowering in fear of their constituents, citizens are forging ahead with town hall events of their own – with an empty seat at the front reserved for their member of Congress.

If their invited representatives don’t show up, the absence will speak volumes to the local news cameras and Facebook Live feeds streaming from their constituents’ mobile phones.

And to make sure nobody forgets that their officials have gone AWOL, they’re buying local newspaper ads calling them out and plastering milk cartons with “MISSING” stickers in their local supermarkets.

What are the thousands of people asking for?

Protection of the vital healthcare programs that millions of lives depend on.

An immediate, public, and comprehensive investigation into Trump’s ties with Russia.

The rejection of Trump’s big-business-is-always-right supreme court nominee.

Opposition to Trump’s racist and xenophobic immigration policies and the travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries.

From Republicans, a willingness to put country before party.

From Democrats, the use of every available tool to block Trump’s toxic and unconstitutional agenda that would divide our communities, poison our environment and bankrupt the country for the personal benefit of billionaires like the president himself, his cabinet and his corporate-honcho allies."

Lights. Camera. Action! Will representatives be fired??? Tune in!
This will not lead to any further power. The DNC is fighting an EXTREMELY uphill battle to even hold the current level of power in 2018, if not take a beating. I don't say this because the RNC is so great, but just the math of how many and which seats are up in the Senate, and where the districts are drawn for the house until 2020.

What they may accomplish, however, is getting squishy Republicans to try and wave some sort of magic wand that keeps Obamacare for the 11 people it benefited, while easing the burden on the other 350 million Americans.

They aren't the Tea Party - they are raving fucking lunatics that just SCREAM SCREAM SCREAM and think that somehow that is "political dissension". They are not civil - they are just like all the dipshits that have protested Trump since day one. They are a fucking joke.
Because conservatives and the Tea Party NEVER did anything even REMOTELY like this.

not from what I've heard. you suck it up and listen to all of your constituents. none have been cancelled. the protesters are the typical low brow comments non intellectual types anyway. It's the voice of the democrats and not a voice that wins elections.

So, no reply to the Tea Party protests from a few years ago where they did the EXACT SAME THING and then won?

Tea party is mostly dead and sold their souls to pacs. If democrats produced a better candidate we wouldn't have a president trump. It's honestly all the democrats need. You put your votes behind a loser in 2016. I understand democrats made a bad choice but it's not the end of the world.

Yet this sure proved to be a winning strategy for them, and they had some really awful candidates then.

Maybe you should have thought about being reasonable before you, and those like you, went out screaming down anyone with an opposing view, or immediately throwing around the racist and *phobic labels? And, judging from the OP, you still haven't learned that lesson, so I hope you're used to the country being run by the GOP.

Luckily you don't represent the people, just a subset of the people who can't accept their candidate(s) lost and think creative memes, comparing the opposition to Hitler, will help you get your way.

If you actually understood what drove it you'd see why that happened and how the left's movement right now is nothing like it.

While it maybe an uphill battle the president's party never really gains senate seats in midterm elections.

I'm aware of the trend but, look at who is up. The GOP has to defend 9 of their most solid seats, and the DNC has to defend 18 seats, 9 of which are in states that went BIG for Trump. A GOP senate super majority isn't out of question, if not down right likely.

The DNC is defending the most seats either party has ever had to defend in one single election, fyi.

Perhaps if these protesters and activists could be calm and not break everything in their path, democracy would still work, but the far far left is destroying democracy right now. I'm not talking about the normal left, I'm talking about the crazies. The right has them too.
