Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

Not big enough to require constant exercise, but not small enough to be an annoying toy dog. Requires very little grooming. They do have some ankle nipping tendencies as puppies due to their gentics, but they easily outgrow it once they realize humans moving are not cattle.

The ultimate dog in my book. It's calm and collected, yet loves to work. It's highly intelligent and quite independent, but still loves to please and will do anything with the proper motivation. It will protect you (and even strangers) with its life, and is a real snugglebear at the same time.

Only downside would be how the breeders are dividing the breed into 2 camps... The show camp, which results in Rottweilers that are too big and slow, or the Working camp which has breeders trying to make the breed into a bigger version of the Malinois... a breed which has a temperament I just cannot stand in any other situations than when they're working...

My friend had one when we were younger. Every time I went over to his house I always wanted to take him home with me.

Very close runner up is Labradors and retrievers. They're just the quintessential dog. So good-natured, loyal and chilled.

Black is a proper color for a dog only if it is set off with tan. And it has to be long, soft and wavy fur.

Most breeding results are detrimental to the overall health of the dog.
I'm not a fan of breeding. If you want a dog, get one from the animal shelter, specifically the mixed breeds because too many idiots only want purebred drogs.

as for corgi....they look like sissies.
terrier their fur looks like they just came out a lake or something. all matted and ugly.
setters their coats are too shiny their fur looks glossy and fake.
german shepards i don't trust any dog with the name of a country in it.
saluki looks very underfed.
maltese are also sissies.
beagles are the dog you have when your 8.
bulldogs are just ugly.
and daaschounds just no.
poodles are the only acceptable dog.

That is because on large animals that is what they have access to. I've seen Corgi's get in fight with other dogs and they go for the neck.

My biggest fear is my Corgi getting tangled up with something dangerous. The little bastards have zero fear and are like midget missiles.
