Of course it is conservatism to the C. States' rights were and still is the clarion call for conservatives. The beginnings of the modern conservative movement started well before the civil war. It was evident when the Deep Southern states signed into the Union. The whole edifice for the commentary of Buckley and Goldwater was to nullify federal power so state power could supercede to achieve their white supremacist/monoculture vision.
It is. Trump is the logical extension of the southern strategy that conservatives pushed for years. I find watching conservatives committing no true scotsman incredible ammussing especially after decades of trying to argue every economic failure in history was the fault of socialism and disagreement was in and of itself nts fallacy.
Conservatives own Trump. Get fucking used to it.
She looked completely drained after losing the election. No way she runs again. Dems will try to find another young guy with energy, like Obama in 08.
No way she would run. Her ego simply couldn't take it, and hopefully in the 3 years before campaigning starts again the democratic party will recover to a respectable level again. They wouldn't taint themselves with her stink and she wouldn't put her self out there like that again because she'd lose.
Also she would have to do a hell of a lot of public political moving in the interim to bring herself back to a point where she can point at her service to the country and use it as a positive. Her time in the Senate and Sec of State is pointless now as she threw it all in the trash during the recent election in favor of mud slinging. Unless she becomes a Senator again, which I'm not entirely sure is even possible, she isn't going to get a position in the current administration. Well she could, if she stopped being a pandering deceitful politician and just admitted that she is decently right of center and would be better served as a republican.
All of this isn't going to happen, her day is done.
I like Hillary Clinton. I voted for her in the primaries in 2008 and again in 2016, and I think she would have made an excellent president. (Yes, I know that many of you would disagree with that.) That said, I wouldn't vote for her again. Fair or not, her perceived baggage went a long way towards putting us in the situation we're in now, and I think the quickest way to another 4 year trump nightmare is by running Hillary. If she somehow won a primary and was the dem candidate for the general election I'd definitely support her-my opinions on her capabilities haven't changed and I'd never vote for trump for anything-but it'd be a real mistake to run her again. I dunno who we're going to put up as the dem candidate this time around, though. I'd love to see Biden or Warren, but they're both getting up there in years. I'm pretty confident that unless trump manages to somehow stop being the petulant manchild that he is and actually get his shit together that pretty much any solid candidate will beat him handily.
And when that happens, I hope he's trolled about it on social media forever, particularly if he loses in a landslide.
Then Trump wins again.
Please for the love of America, stay on your nature walks.
Putin khuliyo
Trump beats her again is what happens. Clinton is unelectable
Chelsea Clinton will be next.
Anyone take a bet?
I believe the Democrats should get rid of their Dynasties.
Should have been the end of this thread. At this point it's all speculation. If the DNC is smart, they won't - no matter how awesome she really is, no one at this point knows it, and it would end up being the same shitshow as in 2016.
The only conceivable way she could legit run is if the DNC doesn't have any strong contenders (and Bernie is too old). But I don't see it happening.
You lying about "having doubts" about Trump "initially" is just so adorable. You're an obvious Trumper through and through - you probably pour the kool-aid.
His popularity is plummeting, and has been since Oval Office Day 1. If you payed any attention, at all, to the world, you'd know that. And the fake news claims, from him, are just hurting him more and more.

Lol, exactly. Stupid liars - how dare they question the God-King Cheeto.
She'd cheat her way to the nomination... again and lose to Trump. Assuming she doesn't die on us first
I always said I would never vote for her ( I didn't vote for Trump or her ) but I would now vote for her to cancel a Hitle - er - Trump vote.

He is pretty much the exact same as as she is.... she might even be younger by a bit.
You make a very interesting point. I did vote for her, and I would again, and I hope the DNC finds new blood. But I think your point about people voting for her to kick Cheeto out is very salient. DNC voter turnout would be insane.
(and unfortunately, it doesn't look like a 2018/2019 impeachment is going to happen - the 2/3's requirement just doesn't seem feasible)
So all we have is 2020.
