So, I ask again, why was this first month stuff for Trump if its not really a big deal? Surely, there's more important and pressing things, no?

The DSM5 classifies EVERY Human emotion as a disorder now. making it so that even if you're in a happy or joyful mood, you have a mental problem. Which leads to people having their Rights stripped. Some of us saw that coming when the pseudoscience of psychiatry implemented this into the DSM. It was a backdoor gun grab under the Obama Administration

Lol. Good grief. You would have to ask him. I do not know or care with the exception it was a good thing for him to do. I support it and you do not. Which is fine.

I did not consider it a legit question. But a one which has no bearing on the subject. Why would you care that he signed it now or 6 months from now? Your "Wow" seems to indicate you were triggered.

Of course you don't, hence the triggeredness of your response.

You tell us this law is no big deal. The fact that it was such a priority that it got signed so quickly into Trump's run, says it is a big deal.

Don't care if that makes you all upset and grumpy.

Former DSM chairperson apologizes for creating “false epidemics”

Allen Frances chaired the DSM-IV that was released in 1994. He now admits it was a huge mistake that has resulted in the mass overdiagnosis of people who are actually quite normal. The DSM-IV “…inadvertently contributed to three false epidemics — attention deficit disorder, autism and childhood bipolar disorder,” writes Allen in an LA Times opinion piece.

    He goes on to say:

The first draft of the next edition of the DSM … is filled with suggestions that would multiply our mistakes and extend the reach of psychiatry dramatically deeper into the ever-shrinking domain of the normal. This wholesale medical imperialization of normality could potentially create tens of millions of innocent bystanders who would be mislabeled as having a mental disorder. The pharmaceutical industry would have a field day — despite the lack of solid evidence of any effective treatments for these newly proposed diagnoses.

All these fabricated disorders, of course, result in a ballooning number of false positive. As Allen writes:

The “psychosis risk syndrome” would use the presence of strange thinking to predict who would later have a full-blown psychotic episode. But the prediction would be wrong at least three or four times for every time it is correct — and many misidentified teenagers would receive medications that can cause enormous weight gain, diabetes and shortened life expectancy.

But that’s the whole point of psychiatry: To prescribe drugs to people who don’t need them.

What Obama did was a big deal. To the extent it was a another move in overreach of the government in matters best left to the states. So in that sense what Trump did was also a big deal. And I am not upset or grumpy. This forum is more for entertainment than anything.

You are missing some key components of GAD being diagnosed there, it isn't just being a little anxious.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), which affects 6.8 million adults or 3.1 percent of the U.S. population, is characterized by persistent and excessive worry about a number of different things. Individuals with GAD find it difficult to control their worry. They may worry more than seems warranted about actual events or may expect the worst even when there is no apparent reason for concern.

People with the disorder, which is also referred to as GAD, experience excessive anxiety and worry, often expecting the worst even when there is no apparent reason for concern. They anticipate disaster and may be overly concerned about money, health, family, work, or other issues. GAD is diagnosed when a person finds it difficult to control worry on more days than not for at least six months and has three or more symptoms.
People with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) experience excessive anxiety and worry, often about health, family, money, or work. This worrying goes on every day, possibly all day. It disrupts social activities and interferes with work, school, or family.

GAD is diagnosed in adults when they experience at least three of the symptoms below on more days than not for at least six months; only one symptom is required in children.

Symptoms of GAD include the following:

restlessness or feeling keyed up or on edge
    being easily fatigued
difficulty concentrating or mind going blank
    irritability
    muscle tension
sleep disturbance (difficulty falling or staying asleep, or restless, unsatisfying sleep)

Go bless the United states of mass shooting.

Because only sane people commit them.

I don't think you read that. Luckily, I did and it specifically states the opposite of what you said in regards to GAD.

Too much money involved in that industry for it ever to be handled sensible for as long as money will be the biggest voice in politics.

Don't really believe all that other nonsense of american way of life or freedom or whatever slogan to justify owning an arsenal of weapons, it's all just money.
